Gear selector shifter wouldn't respond

Sometimes when I start my hybrid the gear shift knob won't turn because the solenoid doesn't release. It says it's ready to drive. The dealer where I purchased it told me to take it to a different dealer. The second dealer doesn't know what to do about it.

I shut it off and restart it, it's never failed twice in a row.

Are you sure it’s not foot pressure on the brake pedal? Whenever mine doesn’t want to shift, I just lift foot off of brake, then step on brake extra hard and gear lever works without having to shut off the car a restart it.

Crazy how some dealers are not knowledgeable enough to solve problems; seems like Ford should better equip and train their dealers. Not great customer service

I have worked brake pedal many times during this issue. The only way I've gotten it to move is shutting off and restart

My shifter is temporarily not giving me problems, after the dealership warranty replaced my 12v. I expect once this next one starts to fail the problem will crop up intermittently, then frequently, as before.
