Does anyone see there gas gauge drop from full to three quarters after fill up I am thinking gas is running out of the filler neck when full, not over filling tank seems to drop pretty quick
If you're loosing gas you'd smell it, I think something else is going on

Couple of things I've noticed on my Lariat hybrid that may help.

The fuel gauge is a little more sensitive to downhill situations compared to other vehicles I've owned.
It doesn't take very much nose low to change the reading
and
it does react to changes a little slow.
Sideways too.
Been a couple fillups back, but filler side was higher and decently unlevel in QT lot.

I'd gotten fillup just a few miles before 0 DTE estimate, on hybrid that means barely any fuel for my city driving, so it should have been about 13.8 since I hadn't dug into the extra 2 gal plus.
14.8.

And indeed, it didn't spike over full until I'd driven off lot and been level for a bit.

So agree it could easily be a bad tilt causes full for the pump and initial gauge reading, but out on the road you lose 2 gal or more easily and soon.

I lose fuel very quickly about 4 or 5. Gallons

1/4 tank if accurate on a fuel gauge would be 4 gal for you.
They are not that accurate in the first place.

You combine the right tilt combo on fillup it has been shown the correction when level can be delayed but when it finally happens could appear major.

If you are level on fillup - then go for the sending unit problem mentioned in prior post when you take back to dealer.

They'll be able to confirm thru scanner the readings are in the correct range if it's major, otherwise they'll need to duplicate probably.

Waiting on parts I will know something next week

Per the manual, and other resources, one should stop at the first click. That allows for expansion, etc..
This is especially true on the hybrids, as they use a pressurized fuel system.

Yes it is a current problem happens every time I fill it up until first click drive about 300 miles before filling up. Gauge goes from full to three quarters pretty fast don’t smell any gas while driving nothing under truck
This is sounding more and more like a fuel gauge sensor in the tank, they used to be a float connected to a potentiometer , when the fuel level changes, the float moves and adjusts the potentiometer sending a different voltage to the car electronics.

And is this happening at every gas station ? Different pumps?

Maybe someone can answer this, I don't know, but do gas tanks have a venting requirement? like in plumbing installations? Is there a vent in gas tanks that lets air in but doesn't let air out? similar to a cheater vent.... and if that vent isn't working, could it cause the float in the tank to rise too fast thereby giving erroneous gas level information, but then subside and settle down.

I should have check AI, here's what it states.....

Car Gas Tank Vent

Yes, car gas tanks do have a vent. The venting system is crucial for relieving the vacuum and pressure that the tank is exposed to while in service. This system also helps manage the expansion and contraction of gasoline volume as it warms up and cools down inside the tank. In modern vehicles, the vent line or EVAP tube that comes from the gas tank is typically routed to the intake manifold, where any excess fuel vapor can be used and emissions can be minimized.

Only the Hybrids are cap-free. They also have a pressurized tank.

Ecoboost models do have a gas cap.
🤔 Interesting , I didn't realize that Ford went back to gas caps on the EcoBoost Maverick's.
The picture below is of my wife's 2016 Ford Escape and her 2009 Escape also didn't have a gas cap. Both Escapes were non-hybrid.
Having had Chevy Volt along with my Maverick. I realize our tanks are pressurized and have a locking fuel door
