FYI For Those DIY’ing Oil Changes: Mobil 1 12 Qt Box

Was looking for Mobil 1 5W-30 to do an oil change and Walmart had these 12qt dispenser boxes for $57 delivered. The spout is actually good, doesn’t leak, you just need to get yourself a measuring cup that becomes your “oil” measuring cup. Cheaper and reduces waste.

That seems like a very good price. The last time I bought Mobil 1 (0W-20 for hybrid) at Costco I think I paid around $37 for a 6-quart case of bottles.

It's a better bulk price than the $27 5-quart containers I buy for sure, but I need the old containers to recycle the oil in. I don't otherwise have enough gallon+ jugs laying around.

Curious: do you drain right into the jugs? I just use one of those drain tray things. Mine holds 15qts I think.

Ha, no I am not that good. I drain into an open pan with a funnel, and that gets oil, ATF, PTU/RDU fluids and whatever else. Funnel from there into the jugs. I tend not to make a trip for recycling until I have 5 gallons accumulated between all the vehicles in the house.
