I couldn’t justify purchasing a custom subwoofer box for $250 through ground-shaker.com. Instead, I built this for around $60.
The angles were a bit of a pain, but in the end it was well worth the time and effort.
Roughly 40 cu. ft. with an 8” Skar VD-8 D2 subwoofer and Kicker cxa400.1. Wire harness was from plugnplaykits.com (kit 28) and I wired the REM by way of taping into fuse #3.

Nice build, I contemplated self built behind the seat to save my cargo space. However my time is at a premium now a days and that space is all sorts of uneven angles. Can't wait to see someone get a 12" behind the seat!

Ultimately I just went with a simple all in one to add the bass the system lacks. Wound up well worth the $90 kit. Dialed up it will actually shake my rear view and isn't as punchy as one would think for such a tight package. Though as you'd expect for such a small unit it lacks the rumble a nice box can give you. I like that position where you have the amp. It's like found space because you're not gonna store anything else on that hump.

Wish you were local, I'd like to sit in both cars and see what kind of diff a box with airspace makes. Though your sub and amp are higher spec too.

Where was that all in one purchased? How do you keep it from moving or vibrating?

Would you buy it again 🤔

Amazon:
RECOIL SL1708 8" Under-Seat Slim Amplified Car Subwoofer with 99.99% Oxygen Free Copper Installation Wiring Kits https://a.co/d/3pUkCOd

Absolutely would. First one I received crapped out in 24 hours. But Amazon replaced and the manufacturer offered to mail me a new one also after a troubleshooting call. I was happy with their support and feel confident they would backup the full year warranty on the replacement. The wire kit was surprisingly nice.

I used 3m command strips to hold a 3/4" stiff foam pad to the plastic. Then the same strips to hold the sub to the foam. Strong yet removable and insulates the plastic storage area from vibration. No rattles, well from the sub anyway 🤣. Plenty of noises at highway speed but I've never had a fancy car. The sub takes care of the rattles 😉, thump drowns out the rattles and wind noise.

I wired the remote to the aux cigarette lighter power but also added a cutoff. Found the cutoff to be too bright at night and then added a button cover my kids find even cooler than the blue button.
