So far I'm only seeing other manufacturers chopping of the backs of their small SUV's to compete with??? I guess the Hyundai Santa Cruz? Ford brought back the Compact truck. I don't see any competition so far for the Maverick

There is actually a subforum called "Maverick vs The Competition" and you might want to check it out. https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/forums/maverick-vs-the-competition.10/

Several vehicles are rumored. I have yet to see a single announcement that includes US pricing and availability. Based on the Maverick's success and low price, I don't think that it is a viable option for a competitor to just chop the rear roof from their existing SUV. It'll take more engineering than that to make a better vehicle, and I don't actually think it's possible to make a cheaper equivalent vehicle even with the 2024 hybrid price increase.

These are rumors, nothing official but this doesn't stop those who have You Tube channels to click bait people into thinking what is coming. We are moving into the 3rd year of the Maverick and no one has introduced a compact truck. let that sink in

If other manufacturers are planning to compete in the Maverick segment, they're likely still a few years away.

I have seen at least 5 "potentials". All of the manufacturers call these "Maverick Killers". My question is always- do they get 45+mpg? No? Then they are not a Maverick "Killer". I must confess- the little Dodge looks interesting, but I fogure it will take 10 years to get the "Fiat Stink" off of the brand.

I think there's a few manufacturers seriously R&Ding a compact truck as the Maverick has shown there's a big demand for them, be it a EB or Hybrid.

BUT none have been seen testing on American roads even in camouflage trim. Until we see other brands' compact trucks testing on US roads, the videos/articles you see are just wild-azz guesses as to what a manufacturer may produce = clickbait. Articles showing some 3rd-world version of a small truck doesn't divulge how much big-dollar R&D is needed to get these spartan trucks to comply with US regulations on safety, emissions, etc.

Even with the semi-annual Mav price increases its going to be tough for other manufacturers to compete on price as Ford has been able to start amortizing R&D and production costs for 2~3 years before others enter this segment. Whether Ford wants to maintain this advantage is yet to be seen...so far Ford has raised prices to take advantage for being one of the first to this market (even the Santa Cruz hasn't sold like the Mavs due to non-traditional looks and even higher prices).

Also, I seriously doubt any other manufacturers will debut a Hybrid drivetrain as the no-cost base engine as Ford did in 2022 & 2023, and any Hybrid/Plug-in version probably will be thousands more than the current Mav's Hybrid pricing.

I'm looking forward to other manufacturers entering this truck segment as competition improves the overall segment (and may keep MSRPs somewhat in check), but my wild-azz guess is they will be MY2025s at the earliest.

Sorry to ramble, but I'm tired of "XYZ'z truck is going to crush the Maverick" when there's no concrete info.
