Just a rant .... Really, Ford? Was that the best you can come up with? This Maverick has the silliest fuse box location and accessibility out of any vehicle that I've ever owned in my entire life. You should not have to do an internet search to find out how to access the fuses or what fuse is what.
I'm charging an Anker Solex c1000 from the 12 volt plug up front. I would like the charge it from the inverter in the back but it does not work. From what I have read, it is because the inverter doesn't do the right kind of sine wave to make my Solex happy. I noticed that occasionally the tip of the cigar lighter plug gets hot and I keep reminding myself to push it in a little bit whenever I think about it. Finally something got hot enough in there and blew a fuse. I assumed it was the fuse in the cigarette lighter plug itself and I changed that. It still didn't work. Now, the hunt began for the 12 volt accessory fuse in the Maverick. Whatever happened to popping a kickboard under the steering wheel or behind the glove box? Why do we have to feel like we're disconnecting and removing an entire ECM just access the fuses? Otherwise, I love my truck. This is actually only the second thing that has annoyed me about it in almost 10,000. The first thing is it's absolute refusal to stay in first gear while descending a hill above about 5 mph, even when in manual paddle shift mode. I know it can do it because it does when you're in off road cruise control mode. That's the only way. Putting it in manual mode does not make a difference and it will always upshift to third at about 5 to 7 mph.
