Karr security butchered the fuse box. Can I remove it?

Dealer said there is no gps tracking on it or it isn't an immobiliser. I asked what does it do then. They gave some vague answer about karr will do a payout if it got stolen and if your primary insurance doesn't cover the full amount. I know it's BS but I need a car and it seems the only way to not get this crappy add-on is to get a custom order..

Either way I've unplugged it and the car still works.

Although I signed for it, it doesn't mean they can do a terrible install and create all kind of damages to the wires? I can see they even crimped some wire by accident.

If they disclose it as a security device, without mentioning an undisclosed ability to track and shut off, they should start raising money for the judgments . . .

If it clearly discloses those, well, it's foolish to buy something with a known built in carjacking device!

IMO it's fairly common in my area. The other dealer also had this and I also got that on my trade in.

Yes, it seems common. Here is what I got while trying to order a 2025 in San Diego

"Ford ordered units we are doing only MSRP plus local city tax and fees. We will need to install the KARR security system because until you purchase the vehicle, it is our responsibilty to prevent theft or break ins. Let me know if that works for you. If not, I completely understand"

So I ordered at Granger.

How much did you pay for the delivery? If they can deliver to SD, I'm definitely buying from Granger next time.

You could probably find a good dealer closer - maybe in LA? Even Long McArthur is closer. I am doing a fly and drive. I will visit Family in Des Moines and friends along the way back.

My friend just shipped his car to TN for 1200. At that price I could ship it for less then the savings: but that would take the fun out of it.
