Is a full size steelie the same as a full size xlt wheel?

If the full sized spare was a constrained item, maybe it isn't now(?) I left in on my EB XLT with AWD (dropped the SIBL in the spring) and now I have a VIN and a "build date" in early August. Ordered late December, by the way.

Good for you. I ordered a Lariat Lux I would have removed the sibl if I could. I expect the 23s will not make that part of the package.

“full size spare” size

I had not noticed that the full size spare was not the same size as those on the truck. What's up with that?? Will it make any difference if I have to use it on the front (front wheel drive)?

It's the same size wheel but as you can see on the pic of the sticker it's a 215, not 225 or 235. You can put the same tires you are running on it if you really want to. If you buy a steelie it will cost you about a hundred bucks, no tire. I thought it was a reasonable deal so I got it to save the hassle of shopping and also because it's way better than driving on the doughnut if you get stuck a long way from home.

Other posters have said even the "full size" spare has for emergency use only on it. I don't think a real full size would fit in the space provided.

Looks like all Mavericks come with two different spare tires:

1. a space saver spare tire, donut, or temporary tire, size T155/70D17
2. If you purchase a hybrid or pay extra for a so called "Full Size Spare" surprise, the size is 215/60R17 . This is not the same as the OEM tire/rim on any Maverick.

This information is shown on the Placard located on the driver side door jam.

Please note, the factory spare does not have a Ford OEM TPMS factory sensor.
