This is wild. So, your ordering dealership should have no bearing on when you get scheduled. Super pumped on this news (if it's true).

Also wondering about the "quickly" part. Such a weasel word. That could mean 2 or 8 months in. We have evidence (June and July orders) that it definitely didn't happen before March. Must be a relative term: "our scheduling method changed within the first year of production!"

As long as you didn't order in the final month and/or have a ton of constrained items, you shouldn't worry about not getting your 2022.

Edit: this also means that, starting today, if you see a build identical to yours (or even a superset of yours) you have grounds to be upset and call out Ford if it's scheduled before yours.

Called up Maverick marketing in Dearborn today and found out I got a VIN number and scheduled production week, but not a day, so I didn’t get an email under Ford‘s new guidelines for email sending. If they kept to the original guidelines for sending emails about scheduling, then that would have been one less phone call they would have to handle, and one less statistic they could use to justify reducing customer service staffing levels. So Ford saved $0.00 by not sending an email, but have to compensate for this by maintaining human customer service.

On a different note, I see that they use the date I changed my trim level from XLT to Lariat as the order date. Since I changed the trim level back in September, I thought this would have no effect on my order date for purposes of scheduling production. But now I am likely in the batch of September orders for scheduling, and got bypassed for scheduling with my original July order. Did anyone else have their production date pushed back because of a change in trim level, before the warning about changing trim level went out from Ford last month?
I believe Tim Bartz has mentioned that changing options doesn't affect your order but changing engine or trim does.

I certainly feel that I have a good enough handle on it to know that the data collected assiduously by members of this club and the statement provided by Ford today, are incongruent.
* * *
If Ford, in their statement, had implied that it took them until now to figure out and implement those changes, I would have no problems with it.
I understand. You feel strongly that Ford should have done better and is using weasel words to hide that.

But... if Ford had just had the courtesy to imply that they could not have done better, you would be fine with that.

As for me, I don't care about Ford's typical corporate apple-shining. And, as I've said, I don't know when Ford figured out that their existing system would not suffice, nor how much time and effort was involved in changing it.

Instead, I'm just glad that Ford has made this change, weasel words and all. I think it's going to help people who have been waiting a long time, so I'm happy about it.

MY2022 Mavericks will probably still be coming off the line in August and September. If yours is one of those, then it will be a MY2022 even though it comes to you after August.

If your order has not yet been produced when they switch over to producing MY2023 -- whenever that is, could be October -- then you're out of luck for a MY2022 and will get a MY2023 (if your order has been rolled over or resubmitted).
Your name "Dry Heat" seems appropriate when some of your logical responses are not always appreciated!! Wishing to take advantage of your apparent logical thought process, I put forth the following question to the last line of your above comment.

This is schedule week 18 for schedule weeks 5-16 and 5-23. So.....Ford is now scheduling a build week two months in advance. If August 16th is, as rumored, the day for ordering MY23 and rollovers and MY23 production begins in October, they will have already scheduled all MY22 vehicles a build date by August 16th. Unless constraints change, Ford should be quite capable of telling the order-holders of the need to rollover and there should be no "if your order has been rolled over or resubmitted." What I am trying to say is that there should be some time before August 16th for Ford to tell each person not yet having a build week, if they will be MY22 or MY23. Sound somewhat logical......

My family construct has decided to join the crazy, and is gambling:

7 different vehicle reservations
4 different brands
6 different models

Something is bound to show up.

OR we just end up in rest homes first.

I'll try to respond to each suggestion:

(1) I don't know when the MY 2022 builds will be done nor when the final scheduling will take place. If they have excess materials available in September they might schedule some last minute builds after August 16. If so, my guess is those "extras" would be dealer units rather than retail.

(2) The "if your order has been rolled over or resubmitted" refers to the fact that no one seems to know what the process will be for rolling orders over to MY2023. They may be automatically rolled over, or the dealer may have to resubmit them on August 16th. Both suggestions have been made.

(3) My guess is that Ford will tell folks they are out of luck for MY 2022 before August 16th so that they can get their order in place (somehow) on the first day.

Strictly amateur speculation, but extrapolating from procedures in the past, scheduling for August production will be done in or around June. Presuming '22 builds don't extend into September (which is not entirely out of the question) they'll have a handle by early into July on which and how many units may be pushed into '23 model year.

Anyone with a 2022 order that is getting pushed to 2023 will not need to order on the first day (August 16). Scheduling for 2023 models will not occur until October 6. https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...-2022-production-begins-october-24-2022.6860/
And 2022 order holders will get treated as if their order date is their orginal 2022 order date so they should be in front of all the August 26 2023 and later orders.

I hope Ford gives us some notice of what build changes are coming for 2023 and how/if that impacts the Price Protection. If I'm not scheduled by June or July for an August-September delivery, I'd rather wait another 2-3 months and have an early 2023 with whatever additions are added versus the last 2022 model.

Or subtractions? With the supply chain as it is, I look for the 2023 to lose features - not add them.

Yes, that is also a possibility. I would see them taking things out of the Lux package and making them separate, such as the spay-in bed liner or heated seats maybe? That would also be good to know and hopefully Ford offers an option to either stick around for the last 2022 or be rolled over to the 2023 early so other later orders may have a chance at a 2022.

Hello All Current and Future Maverick Customers

We fully recognize there is a lot of interest and excitement about the Maverick. We are here to answer your questions and be as transparent with you as possible about any confusion in the ordering, scheduling, and production process. Rest-assured, our goal is to build as many Mavericks as we can and satisfy as many new Maverick customers as possible given global supply chain challenges.

Traditionally, we have allocated vehicles to dealerships based on historical sales data, which helped determine the scheduling of orders. While we initially followed this process for Maverick, we quickly pivoted when customer demand exceeded expectations. As a result, orders are scheduled in the order in which they are received, regardless of dealer, pending any capacity and commodity limitations. Oldest Maverick retail orders are prioritized first, provided the Dealer has completed the required Customer Order Verification Process (COVP) AND the order can be scheduled within existing supply and optional features/package availability.

Thank you for your interest in Maverick and your patience during this process. Our goal is to build as many Mavericks as we can so you can get out there and enjoy the 2022 North American Truck of the Year.

Pretty sure @fordvideoguy said changing trim levels and to me changing order type will change order date. Asked about order type as did not initially order with x-plan and my dealer just said would do it when my truck is delivered. Noticed on Tim's order that his was a order type of A and guessing an x-plan would have a order type of X.
