If my dealer has 120 orders ahead of me (just using that as an example, I have no idea how many are actually ahead of me), and say they get 5 allocations a month. I won't get my vehicle for years.
Allocations are a problem if you want to get your Maverick soon. But I don't think allocations are the issue in determining whether orders will be filled this year. Here's why...

(1) Ford has said they are going to devote the great majority of their production to filling existing customer orders. (Some folks don't believe that, so they should ignore this analysis.)

(2) Ford will probably direct future Maverick allocations to those dealers who have existing orders, otherwise they would be working against the statement in number (1).

(3) In the end, every Maverick produced will be allocated -- almost all of them to somebody's existing order.

The orders that don't get built will be bypassed because of inability to produce enough Mavericks (or inability to produce that specific order), not lack of allocation.

So I've been here on the MTC, watching Tim, you tube, etc. and I understand that Ford will build our 2022 Trucks. If for some reason they can't they will be moved to 2023. The problem I have with this scenario is as follows.

If my dealer has 120 orders ahead of me (just using that as an example, I have no idea how many are actually ahead of me), and say they get 5 allocations a month. I won't get my vehicle for years. What am I not understanding? Maybe @fordvideoguy can explain for me.

This is my first ever ordered vehicle. I've always bought on the lot, and usually used cars.
My suggestion would be to send Tim a email@[email protected]

Yes, allocations are different everywhere. I talked to the dealer 1 month ago and they said 10 per month. So this new month and they now have 18 on the website. Of those 18, 14 are white work trucks. Yes, an order for 14 trucks. One thing that does give me hope is, I check the dealer website every few days and read the window stickers with orders numbers. When I see an order number close to my build, I get stoked. I was told that FORD pushes the VINs and builds to the dealers website, so it make sense that they sit on the site until orders are picked up. Plus it drives new buyers to think they can buy the truck, Great marketing. There are certainly trucks getting out there in the used market and the dealers are making money on those. But get bought up quick. Thoughts for the week, waiting for Thursday

"when the order book reopens in mid-August your current order will be ahead of all those".

I wouldn't bet on that as an absolute. Allocations and constraint items factor into that as well as some of Ford's mysterious ingredients.
Yeah, I was going to question DJF's comment too ... I know Tim said he believed unfulfilled and uncancelled MY22's would be rolled over to MY23 and many, many people on here, Reddit and Facebook all expect the rollovers. But ... can anyone point to anything official from Ford that unfulfilled and uncancelled MY22's will be rolled over to MY23?

I don't know about an official notice from Ford, I'm sure they will send out another generic mass email blast telling people to contact their dealers. Your order is technically with your dealer, not Ford. I would think it unprecedented if Ford just canceled any order they can't build. But it's not like Ford will produce nothing but those orders once 23 production starts again at the end of October. Constrained builds and dealer allocations will once again be a large determining factor as to when those rollover orders actually get built.

You just have to wait like the rest of us. If your 22 gets bumped to a 23, you will still get a Maverick. Just remember that when the order book reopens in mid-August your current order will be ahead of all those.
At least that’s what Ford says. They can’t really explain why someone who ordered in Oct. has his Maverick and the guy that ordered the July before him is still waiting for a build date. Fords order and delivery system is not the most dependable or predictable.

PS he's usually pretty good about emailing you back in a timely manner
I think he is on vacation this week though. So might take a while for him.

Partially true.

Also mixed into the arcane formula are:

1) What trim/what engine a particular dealer has on order.
2) Which options are or aren't included on each of the delaer's orders.
3) Whether any of those options are constrained, and by how much.
5) What region of North America (as defined by Ford) that dealer is located.
6) How many chickens have been sacrificed to appease the auto gods.

(Okay, maybe not #6.)

Eventually dealers with huge numbers of orders and corresponding allocations will reach or approach zero outstanding. That doesn't mean the production line will decelerate.
CHICKENS! Dang! I've been using goats all this time! No wonder it's taking soooo long.

Demand has outstripped supply. This is playing out like a game of musical chairs and someone is going to be left without a Maverick to sit in.

Wouldn't it be funny if we all get bumped to 2024? The supply chain issue isn't going away or resolved any time soon.
There are Bronco folks who reserved in 2020, converted those into 2021 orders, got bumped to 22 and are still unfulfilled and probably hoping they don't get bumped to 23. Could play out like that for the Maverick crowd.

I still am in the same boat as you. The two of us should be on the short list now with our RR,FE ordered 6/10. Waiting so long we should get, ALL THE BELLS AN WHISTLES THAT WE ORDERED HEATED SEATS AND STEERING WHEEL INCLUDED. Chips be damned get the FEs out now.

What determines allocations then? I thought it had to do with how many orders they get? I ask this because about a month or so ago, my salesman said he hasn't receive one Maverick yet.
@fordvideoguy explained the allocation formula in one of his last two live streams. The Regional Scheduler announces monthly allocations and tells dealers what options they're previewing for each week.

2024? Hmmm ... You mean that I might get an email that a Rivian R1T is ready for me before my MY22 Maverick? o_O

I never seriously imagined that being a possibility!
