I look at these hybrid postings of their dashboards, and I’m kinda glad I got an Eco, because I would not want to learn how they work 🤣, besides, I’m too old to learn that new hybrid, EV, sh#T!
Uh - that's not a hybrid screen you replied to, that's EB.
Should look somewhat familiar.

I was commenting on the OP post, not comparing to a hybrid.
For more comparing though: I get about 27mpg average with much more 'city' driving than highway but easily breaks into the low 30' on the highway.
Keep in mind the FX4's have a lower differential gearing than the other models/packages (3.81 vs. 3.63)

Hybrid vs EB compares for MPG - probably not overly useful. Though hwy only use would be likely close.

@Blackbelt - I would be curious what your actual time for the trip was?

Many post that show great highway mileage pics for the trip, also end up being actually much slower than thought when mathed out, so the avg speed isn't really as fast as recalled.

That is excellent back road though - AC on too?
Heybales,
I left Erie PA after breakfast and immediately got onto I90 to I79 South. I drove I79 south for approx 79 miles and got onto 422 . I drove 422 and got off on a 2 lane road which was the final 9 miles to my home. I checked the display when i parked in my driveway. I set the cruise on 75 when i got on the highway, and left it there. Occasionally i had to slow down or speed up due to traffic., but returned to the CC asap. AC on the entire trip, outside temp was 85

Miles per tank is a good indicator.
Hybrid- all city 800+ miles

Hybrid - city and 55 mph hwy mix 700+

Hybrid - all highway 65 to 75 mph 600+

Hybrid - all highway and heavy heat or AC use : 500+

Hybrid - all city and heavy heat or AC use: 500+

Unless I have my big heavy trailer behind me, I never look for fuel in fewer than 500 miles.

With a high profile 3000 lb trailer at highway speeds: 275 miles. Or 375 city.

So I bought a used 2022 2.0 AWD a few months ago to take the place of my old Ranger.
It went on its first long trip over the weekend (NS to NB and back - just over 1000 km)

When I checked the results I found it a bit shocking (in a good way)!
Surely this can't be accurate?

Cool, my hybrid gets between 46 and 31 regularly. You just can't run it out of gas. It only has a 13gallon tank.

That's very funny. 😆🙃😂😅🤣

On the same drive home I can get 30 MPG or 55 MPG.

Oh. You were joking. I see.
😂😅🤣😅🤣
Huh?

No joking here ... and I don't sweat the fuel mileage its just the cost of ownership

Technically speaking....

The computer uses 13.8 gallons times recent MPG times percent level to compute your range. Your miles remaining.

13.8 is the "normal / nominal" amount you are able to safely use between refuelings.

Technically speaking of physical volume, the HYBRIDS hold at least 17 gallons of liquid fuel.

My largest refuel in my Hybrid so far, and I wasn't out. I was stilling driving normally at this point, but had to be close to true empty, not the hypothetical computer calculation.

In short, you have a large reserve.
A buffer if you will.

This was not a bad pump.
I've added 16 gallons at multiple different sites. Ya I live on the edge sometimes but I'm always in the city with a pump every mile, and the truck fuel pump is in a deep well, submerged until the very end.

And the truck WILL run on electric only the last mile or two to a station, should you actually run out. But you'll be limited to 25 mph. Which stretches your battery range to the maximum.

Half 55mph highway and half city driving on my way to work was 58mpg per the dash with 1560 miles on the odometer. Average speed works out to 30.4mph.

Yeah, I was confused, too. Typically, "shocking" fuel consumption would mean extremely low fuel economy.
You can do even better!!!!
