Hi Maverick Fans,

Has anyone experienced intermittent connection issues when using the front USB-A port in their Maverick?

In my 2022 model, the connection feels weak or possibly defective. My phone frequently disconnects and I have to wiggle the cable or unplug and reconnect it. Even small bumps in the road can cause the connection to drop. When I say drop it does not mean the cable falls out it just looses connection to the screen.

Curious if others have seen the same issue or found a solution.

I have had the same problem but with the USB C port, though its not very frequent. I found the cable being too long and being touched\bumped caused it to be more frequent, so I switched to a 1FT USB C cable and it helped a lot for accidental bumps but the odd time it will still happen.

USB A port does the same thing, though I don't use it. Over 3 years of this and I'm convinced its more of an issue with the base Sync (non 3) system. When it loses connection and the Carplay\AA icon disappears from the screen, moving the cable to make sure its secure has no effect and it has to be fully unplugged and plugged back in to redetect the phone.

It may be the cord itself. I tried 3 brands/types before my similar problem went away.

What is the reason to use a physical cable? If it’s to connect for audio just use Bluetooth.

Apple car play only works with a cable. I tried a third party wireless box but it doesn't work well lags too much

Switch to a right angle cable. That fixed the problem for me.

Good idea too! I will try a few different options to see what works out best. I'm thinking the right angle option will have much less movement.

IMO, first try using a quality cable brand that is Apple MFi certified, not the junk in 7/11 store shelves etc., Suggestions would be Apple, Anker or Belkin. If your an android user I think the same brands would also apply. Just my 2 cents. Hope you get it resolved quickly/easily.
