I live in Michigan where the front plate isn't a State requirement, thus dealers don't install the brackets. It's a tradition of mine to put my late Father's Korean veteran plate on every new vehicle I get. I ordered the bracket and waiting to receive it. I got to thinking about how the rear plate isn't centered, a uniqueness I like, and wondered if I should offset my front plate as well, granted it fits the contour of the bumper, since I have to drill the mounting holes anyways.

Anyone else do this? Comments?

Here in Florida we don't have a front plate requirement. But I wanted to install a front plate and asked the salesman for the bracket. When we picked up the truck I found the bracket in the back seat. Only took 1/2 hour to install.
There are three tiny marks on the bumper cover that you can only see under certain light conditions. This is where you have to drill the holes. BTW the "hardware" that came with the plate bracket were useless. Had to go to the auto parts store to get plastic push in fasteners.

Because of the way the plate mounts I couldn't use a clear protective cover so I covered the plate with 3M vehicle wrap.
There are aftermarket plate brackets that mount below the bumper but I didn't want to block the turbo intercooler.

I received the plate bracket, and it can definitely shift one way or the other, but only so far as it has grooves that line up with the vertical bars of the grill. Now the question is which way to shift it. If I shift it to the passenger side, the truck might tip over with both plates being on the same side, haha.

Yeah, since the rear plate is shifted right when looking at the bumper from the rear, I would shift the front right when looking at the bumper from the front. It would feel "right" to me otherwise. I would be curious to know if there's anything behind that area of the bumper that shouldn't be drilled into. It might not be the same as the factory mounting location.

That's how I'm "leaning" too (pun intended).

Get a couple pieces of temporary removable putty. About $2.
Put some putty on the back of the plate and test where you want to put the plate, by sticking it to the bumper. That way it's moveable without leaving any marks.

I know you don't want to be one of the sheep. There's a reason why the rear plate is offset, that's because of the trailer hitch.
I'm not a fan of an offset plate on the front. I had it mounted that way on my smart for a while and ended up not liking it.

I don't mind the rear offset plate. It's the easiest way to differentiate a Maverick from a Ranger.

I mounted mine where the dimples in the front center are. There is no way I would block airflow to the radiator unless you like overheating vehicles. The hardware with my mount sucked too. I had to use .ore substantial mounts.

🤓 :ROFLMAO: I moved to Oklahoma from Colorado 10 months ago, we have two plates in Colorado. I like it where it’s at, so I added my mascots to that for a plate.

You don't have to drill holes into your bumper You can go to www.stonsho.com. And buy a license plate bracket for your Maverick. I did. I did not like that they drilled holes in my bumper when I asked them at the dealer not to! So I purchased one of these simple install
