Nevada requires a front plate on vehicles equipped with a bracket.

Not realizing the exception, I insisted on the dealer mounting one on my 2006 Miata.

After several rounds, we gave up on getting it to start on.

And now my special order Maverick has shown up without a front mount!

Before January 1, 2025 that is how Utah's law on front plates read. Fortunately the Maverick does not come with the front mount installed, thus it was not "equipped" with a bracket. Had it been manufacturer installed, we would have had to mount the front plate. Effective January 1, 2025, the state of Utah only ships one plate for use on the rear on new and used vehicles registered and they eliminated the need for a front plate for everyone including current vehicles. I have noticed a lot of people putting a college or university "plate" on the front, or taking off the entire bracket for the cleaner look without it

Thanks for relating your experience with this issue. And similar to you, my dealer registered the car in NY (which cost me an extra $160, but I have no complaints about the added registration fees, since I wanted it registered before it gets to NY).

Do you happen to have a part number?
And I will show your message to my dealer to confirm it can be done. Thanks.
NZ6Z17A385CC, I do not know if the 2025 uses the same part number

My 2022, purchased new in Kansas, had a front license plate bracket included in a plastic bag under the rear seat. I drove the vehicle back to my home in NY and I think I tossed the bracket in the trash. I don't remember getting two license plates at NY DMV or remember what I did with the second one if I did, but I've never had a front plate on the Maverick.

In the past, a front plate was not required on a pickup truck in NY. Back in the day, I used to have a dive flag in the front plate bracket on my '88 Chevy C/K-2500 for many years. But these days, NY residents are allowed to register a pickup as a passenger car if they won't be using it commercially, so...

Anyway, no issues with me having only one plate for over two years. Knocking on wood...

I just bought a 2024 new from a dealer in Virginia and the OEM bracket was installed.
Your dealer installed it after they received the vehicle. The plate bracket come in a baggie under the rear seat. They would have mounted it. They leave Mexico with it under the seat, not on the front. We tossed our when we got home.

I know someone in Ohio that bought an F-150 from Kentucky. Kentucky didn't require a front plate. He went back to the KT dealer and said he needed a front bracket. The dealer said it would cost the cost of the part and installation.
Sounds right. Ford doesn't include the uninstalled bracket to vehicles sold in states that don't require them.

I didn't ask.
They don't install the front plate bracket in Mexico. Dealer does. There is no "delete" for the plate bracket on a vehicle order, by state. The dealer simply kept it if they were a state that doesn't issue a front plate.

Unfortunately, it's nearly $200. Here's an alternative that I found listed on a Reddit Maverick forum ($100) that might work. It looks like it can be mounted on the grill, or on the lower opening off to the side of the sensor.

That mounting position looks terrible in my opinion. Why would anybody want it up in the grill like that? It should be in the lower grill.

$200 ???!!! It was a crummy piece of plastic. It was worthless to us, so we tossed the little baggie with it into the garbage as soon as we got home with the car. That price cannot possibly be right.

I bought two Mavericks from Long McArthur Ford in Salina, Kansas, where a front plate is not required. Yet, I live in California, where a front plate is required. They provided front license plate brackets at no charge. If the selling dealer were honorable, they would offer to send you a factory front license plate bracket at no charge.
Thanks. I appreciate yout response. Only possible issue is I have a 2025 maverick hybrid Lariat trim and previous or current Ford brackets don't fit current 2025 models they sell. But this is a Ford fuck up the way I see it, if they can't provide me a front license bracket with a car I bought from them. My particular hybrid lariat build should make no difference or, of if so, they need to have special bracket that works for any Maverick they sell. Makes no no sense to me that doesn't have a dedicated part to fit every lariat trim line maverick they sell in 28 states that require 2 license plates.

Can you send a picture of the bracket? And what is the part number on the back? If it works for me, ill buy it from you.

Thanks.
