I have a Pixel 9 Pro XL phone and I can't get the Forscan App to work on it. Is anyone else having this issue? I was able to install it but get the error - "Unable to initialize application". Any advice would be appreciated.

This may (or may not) help. Try deleting the app data, uninstalling, reboot & reinstall.

No problem on an LG device, or a prior older LG device.

Since you are on a straight Google phone, and this app is side-loaded - could there be some security/safety setting you have installed that is blocking it from running thinking it's unsafe?
Maybe even an anti-virus app running?

Suggestion on selecting PIDs for display.
Many of them are available from different modules - if you can select the ones you want that happen to be from the same module, better update speed I've seen.

Suggestion on when you get the PIDs found that you want to display.
There is a Save profile or View option - for the few times the working of it hangs or a reconnect is needed - very annoying searching down the PID's again.

One more question - if you make changes - enable other options with Forscan - do they stay when Ford pushes an OTA update?

You have to setup the WiFi on your truck for an update to even happen.
Unless they include over the cell network - but I've yet to see the menu option that allows checking for update with wifi disabled.

Anyway, even with wifi enabled - it's only the infotainment center software that is updated.
So it's not a push as much as you set it up to check and pull. So you can disable.
And from reports - settings are saved, like they've always been.

So if doing Forscan settings in APIM - sure could have a good chance of overwritten custom info back to defaults, unless they are considered settings.

Just in case not known - Forscan Lite can't do those things, but perhaps you got the license for laptop too.

Have they changed it recently, I thought the Android app was only for viewing some information and you couldn't make any programming changes?

That is still correct.

AFAIK, the only updates sent OTA are for the Infotainment System. Vehicle software updates, like the ones quite numerous on early-year Mavericks, require dealer visits - either going to them or they send out a mobile tech to your home or work location. Oftentimes, these will revert all the changes you made with FORScan. Make a backup of the changes.

Theoretically the Sync 4 system in 2025's may be able to.
