Ok, all you forscan guys, after going in and changing factory settings have any of you had any warranty claims and how did the dealer or ford handle it.? Has anyone who changed their trucks settings had any hassles from ford or the dealership? Thanks ahead of time.

I've been using FORScan on multiple vehicles since 2012. I've never had any hassles from Ford, but none of those vehicles have ever needed dealer service that would prompt Ford to notice the changes.

So why would you respond to his question?

Because I've changed settings with FORScan for years and have had warranty claims with no hassles, and that is exactly what the OP was asking for. Those situations didn't require connecting to OBD-II and looking specifically at any settings, so they wouldn't have seen any of those changes. Point being, it would be very rare for any Ford dealership to notice any changes made by FORScan unless they were specifically looking for them. FORScan changes don't have any effect on the operation of the powertrain, so they very likely wouldn't care.

I think you must have missed the part where I qualified my statement: "but none of those vehicles have ever needed dealer service that would prompt Ford to notice the changes."

So, what do you have to add to this conversation?

The only problem was having to make the same changes after the dealer resets to OEM settings. I had the BCM reprogrammed due to the potential tail light issue and it reset some of my custom settings. Nothing was said about the Forscan updates. I would not expect anything different from a recall or warranty claim. IMO.

I suspect that anytime the dealership accesses this data, it's to do just that, and they're not going to look at any details you have changed. They'll just overwrite it and you can replace your settings from backup.
