Can someone explain to me what Forscan is?

Forscan is a computer OBD2 software that can scan and clear codes on your car's ECU. It can scan all the modules in your car unlike a regular cheap OBD2 reader. It can also edit the parameters for these modules to unlock or change things you other wise couldn't.
Needed:
Windows based laptop, paid or free trial software and something like the OBD pictured below.

It duplicates some if not all of the diagnostic and service capabilities of the OEM computers the mechanics use.

You can get an OBD2 scanner for under twenty bucks and it will read check engine light codes and even give you some basic information about the operating state of the vehicle. Forscan (and the OEM software) can read everything and also change setting as well as actuate hardware.

But if you change stuff and Ford finds out, kiss your warranty goodbye.

From what I have read about Forscan use and Warranties, it depends.. So not 100% true.
