Thanks for the clarification, I don't have that on my Maverick but it's an easy Stop/Start fix for those who do.

I should have been more specific. Behind the rear console in the rear passenger area on some Mavericks is an AC outlet like you would find in your home. There is a 400 watt inverter that supplies 120V AC. You can plug things like an electric razor, toothbrush or other low wattage appliances into. I think it is an option so may not be on all Mavericks. My Tremor also has one in the bed area near the tailgate on the left side. The night light would be like one you would plug into a wall outlet in your home. I got mine off Amazon, but I assume you could get them at Walmart or Target.

Hmmmm - wonder if a power point adapter draws about the same?

Bunch of USB night lites now - 5V, 1-2A claimed.
Probably not enough.

12V port lite - 0.5W or 12V, 0.04A.
Really not enough.

Home night lite, red so it doesn't ruin night vision - 0.3W or 112V, 0.003A.

I'm guessing it's the pull on the inverter on the 12V battery that allows this trick to work.

I'll have to see if I have some home USB item that draws around the same, and just plug it into the power port USB adapter.

Oh wait - on a hybrid - never mind!

I would assume anything plugged in drawing enough current would do the job. I never notice the light being on even in the dark. If you are into total darkness in the cab paint it black. Actually the one I use is color selectable so it doubles as accent lighting for the passengers in the rear. The main thing is it works for me and if I want S/S to work again I just unplug the light and fulfills the rule I try to follow, KISS....

I used Forscan to disable Auto/Stop Start on my 2025 Maverick.
I'm Mircrosoft Certified Professional, HP Expert and an A+ Certified PC tech. I'm also a bit OCD so I tried to take detailed notes.
Here's a copy of my notes; I can't say they are perfect but I believe they should be helpful.

Download and install Forscan for Windows on your laptop.

Obtain a FREE Forscan license *2 month Trial

Connect OBDLinkEX to OBD port under driver’s side dash then connect it to laptop

*OBDLinkEX LED should be Green

Open FORScan on PC

Turn Ignition ON. *NOT Start

Click ‘Connect to Vehicle’ icon on FORScan. *A Warning pop-up will appear, click OK

FORScan will show a list of Saved Vehicles or start a scan for a new vehicle

At end of scan will be prompted to ‘Save Vehicle’ if new

Click on ‘Configuration & Programming’ icon, below the Wrench icon.

FORScan will show ALL modules in both ‘AS BUILT’ MODE and ‘EASY’ MODE

Go to PSCM [Power Steering Control Module] > AS BUILT > ‘Run Service Procedure’ *Warning Pop-Up

FORScan will display all PSCM modules in hexadecimal format *Don’t change anything!

At bottom of screen choose: SAVE ALL > .abt file > Destination > Save > then STOP SERVICE PROCEDURE
*You now have a back-up of all original default settings in the PSCM modules if it needs to be restored.

Leave ‘As Built’ mode and go to ‘Easy Mode’ by clicking the ‘Configuration & Program’ TAB

Click the Easy Mode ‘PSCM' module > Run Service

Scroll and find the Auto Stop/Start entry

Should be 3 Choices Disable | Enabled with Angle Inhibitor | Enabled without Angle Inhibitor

Select DISABLE then click on the Checkmark

Will now show as DISABLED but must click on the WRITE button to complete configuration!!!

A pop-up will appear when you click on WRITE to confirm your choice, click Checkmark to confirm

Pop-Up should appear after writing:

‘BLOCK PROGRAMMED SUCCESSFULLY’

‘Please cycle ignition OFF then back ON’
DON’T click OK on the Pop Up yet!

Cycle ignition OFF then back ON then click OK

Programming is now completed.

Click the ‘STOP SERVICE PROCEDURE’ icon. *Square Stop icon

DONE

Confirm that everything is working as it should.

Auto Stop/Start should be OFF and STAY off without pushing button.
thank you i didn't think to look into the

On my 2022 Maverick, I installed a $15 auto start/stop eliminator harness I bought off ebay. You have to pop out the button housing and then simply unplug the auto start/stop connector from the button, plug it into the new harness and plug the harness to the button and pop the housing back in.

This does not disable the button, you can still use the button to turn auto start/stop on and off, it simply remembers your last setting before you turn off the vehicle and doesn't default to ON every time you start the car.

I installed it over a year ago and it works flawlessly and causes no issues with the vehicle.

Here is a link to the one I bought off Ebay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/167581824824)
I see that they have them on Amazon now too.

Here's a youtube video that shows someone installing one.
