What’s the problem with “wokeness”?
That whole message just reeks of someone old complaining about the next generation, just because the Starbucks down the street is struggling to hire for a non union job that pays a minimum wage that barely covers rent let alone dreaming of affording their own house. And the idea of who you are and know mattering definitely wasn't relevant in the world until recently, and all the issues around lack of diversity in the workplace aren't related at all.

Breath. I waited a year and a week to get mine. I suspect it would have taken the same amount of time if I just sat it out and waited (which I did) or if I got tangled in knots and bugged my salesman every 2 weeks (which I didn't do). One of the wisest things in life it to accept that there are things in the world that you can't control, so no point in getting worked up over them. And if it makes you feel any better, remember that very maverick buyer (and Tesla buyer, and Rav4 buyer, and Corvette buyer, etc.) is in essentially the same boat. Ford's doing the best it can -- they DO want to get you your truck and get paid.
That's bogus...Ford gets paid whether you ever get your truck or not. There are buyers waiting and the dealer pays for the truck anyway. If they really care they would have taken care of the customers that have been waiting since 2021 and rolled those order over with a priority deserving to be the first ones built. They didn't do that which shows no attempt to do the best they can. If they cared they know they have more hybrid orders then they can build why not inform those folks instead of stringing them along...

I appreciate this post since I believe my trucks rail destination is also Delaware with eta to dealer before 1/1. It shipped 12/6 and is in Illinois now, so is probably on target to get here on time rail-wise. I will lower my expectations of it actually arriving at the dealership based on this thread and expect it to sit parked in DE for a while.

Don't take this the wrong way as I also have waited a year for my Maverick and love it but as time goes on sooner or later the honeymoon will be over and reality says its just a used little truck and time to sell or trade when a new shiny toy shows up on the radar. :)

Quick rant: Placed my Maverick order and gave a $500 deposit on Jan. 25, 2022. You can see additional details in my signature.

Basically zero communication from dealer after than unless I initiated, but I kept track of the order scheduling process through @fordvideoguy. Thank God for Tim!

As a result of Tim's videos, I asked my dealer to move me from Priority 19 to Priority 10 last summer, which he did. Miraculously, I received a VIN for my truck in late August just before scheduling was cut off for the 2022 model year. Like most people, I went through the "build week shuffle" with multiple re-schedulings until mid-November when my truck was finally built -- I think with about a week of model year 2022 production remaining -- and shipped out.

It took about 2.5 weeks to get from the factory in Mexico to the final rail depot in Wilmington, DE, where it has now been sitting for the past week. My dealer initially told me he would request a "hot tag" for my truck to expedite delivery. However, it continues to sit in Wilmington without even a scheduled ETA for arrival. Today, I checked with the dealer again and he basically told me, there is a shortage of truck drivers and it will get there when it gets there.

So, with my wait at 323 days and counting, I now have a fully built 2022 Maverick sitting in a lot in Delaware and apparently there isn't a darn thing I or anyone else can do about it. It could show up tomorrow. It could show up in mid-January, likely after thousands of others folks have taken delivery of their 2023 Mavericks.

So, bottom line, Ford's entire process -- from placing your Maverick order to finally taking delivery -- is FUBAR. If Ford hired a team of "experts" to complicate and prolong this process, I am not sure they could make the process of obtaining one of these unicorns any more cumbersome or drawn out than it already is.

Don't get me wrong; I am REALLY excited about the truck, and I sure as heck will not be walking away at this point. However, I swear I will NEVER sign up for another vehicle buying process like this again. Hands down, the worst shopping experience of my life.
Glad you got your Maverick built but the priority switch from 19 to 10 was not the reason - but I am happy for you!

My truck is also sitting in a railyard about 2 hours from me. It's been there for over a month now. Do I wish it has already been delivered to the dealer, sure do. Do I wish the dealership could just go get it, yep. But it is what it is and will hopefully get delivered soon. But it's nice to know that I'm not alone in my frustration on it being so close yet so far.

I don't suppose Ford is going to do anything for those of us who will be taking delivery of "new" 2022 trucks in 2023, long after many thousands of customers have driven off the lots with their new 2023s...

Nope it 100% was. Had the same build as outdoorsman, same dealer, sitting unscheduled since November, but my build was passed over because of priority codes. Was asking the dealer for months if they could change it, but they said no.

I'm sure you are correct though it is completely out of my area of expertise. But I maintain that Ford corporate will not see any incentive to do so. The dealer is their customer. Not us. Until that changes why would they spend dollar one so an end user can see where their order is. I am most definitely NOT saying they shouldn't do this; I just don't think that the concept is even going to occur to them. It's completely foreign to their business model.
Not an argument, but if Ford considers their customer the Dealer they are barking up the wrong tree. Customer should always be the priority. Already Ford, and dozens of vehicle manufacturers are trying to keep the DEALER out of the picture for their future EV's in the future. State government lobbyist will fight it to protect the Dealership profits. The last five vehicles I bought I never set foot on a Dealership lot...ordered all 5 via internet since, like most people, hate having to deal with pushy dealership sales people.

I and many others on this board did not get irritated with Ford taking 6 to 10 months to deliver a vehicle...they got irritated for not knowing "anything"...hundreds on this board were selling their existing worn out vehicle to buy a Maverick...and many were kept in limbo with inconsistent dates...dozens if not hundreds had to walk away from their orders due to the not knowing a reasonable delivery date.

Is there any way we can figure out how many 2023s will actually be built and delivered to customers by 2022 year end? I'm not sure if any MY23 actually even started heading down the line in November, and there is a year-end shutdown if I remember right for 1 week over Christmas. Add to that the line is shared with BS and remaining 22s and I don't have a handle on how many 23s could really be built and shipped by Dec 31st?

Any guesses or SWAG?

Agree 100%. But reality (today) is that the dealer is the customer and Ford corporate does not have a retail customer centric mentality. I've spent 40 plus years in retail and I know what it takes to make retail customers happy, Ford doesn't. And has no experience or expertise in doing it. I certainly hope that changes. I like cars. I like new cars. I hate car salespeople. Our current vehicles are 2014 and 2017. I am 100% positive I would have bought new ones before now except for the agony of going through the sales process at a dealer.

@Ford if you are listening, this has to change. The dealer purchase experience is awful and is costing you sales. I would do almost anything not to have to go to a dealer that I know is going to try and take advantage of me.
