When we purchased our 2025 hybrid AWD lariat I had a Google pixel 8, which worked well in our 2021 F-150 powerboost and my wife's 's 2021 Mach-e.
When using the hands-free calling in the Maverick it was with immediate bizarre results, like call my wife and it would display some other random contact in my phone. But actually it turns out it was calling my wife. Also the same results when dialing by number. Same for text messages. Our Ford dealership said it was likely because my phone was too old. So I bought a Google Pixel 10 but same wacky results.
Our Ford dealership then said my contacts were probably corrupt. So I had my son who also has a Google pixel 10 try his phone the same bizarre results.
Next our Ford dealership did a factory reset on the Maverick but still the same bizarre results.
My wife's iPhone works without any issues.
The Ford service representative said maybe a new Samsung Android phone would work better than the Google Pixel 10 because it's a more common Android phone and Ford may have engineered for that.
I have switched to using Android Auto but prefer the Ford Sync interface.
Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you don't wanna get an iPhone, get a Samsung Galaxy, it works flawless
I think your dealer is correct, it's not your truck it's your phone

2 or 3 weeks after taking delivery of my '23 Maverick, Ford pushed thru a Sync update, and rendered my (older) Android phone obsolete, since Android's don't normally update the OS. Got an iPhone, no problems since.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 9. It took some doing but I eventually got it connected to my MY25 (the Android Auto was the problem - the phone connected for calls/music no problem)

It *will not* connect Android Auto to the MY26 at work. Something at the truck end has changed.

I have not tried to connect it to the wife's MY26 yet but I suspect it won't.

If I lose connectivity in my MY25 with a SW "update" I will not be happy to say the least. LOL

I also have a Pixel 10 XL pro. Works and connects like a dream with my Maverick and Sante Fe. I even changed providers to Google Fi recently from TMobile and never a glitch. I love the lack of bloatware on my Pixel.

It's not your phone, it's the truck. I have a Pixel 9a, before that had a 7a, and before that a 6. All worked well.

Have used iPhones for years. No problems ever other than not liking Apple politics

If Pixel is meeting the Android requirements it should work or Ford should not advertise their product as being compatible.

As Android and Apple change their OS auto manufacturers should update their systems. Of course the phone suppliers can't make constant changes but they work with the automotive industry to integrate changes and updates.

I do believe that Android and the Pixel are both owned by the same company. It's called alphabet or Google. The Pixel runs standard android while Samsung runs a bastardized android.

I also went from a Pixel 8 Pro to a Pixel 10 Pro and I have had no problems like that. The only problem I have is whenever I pull out of the garage and my phone disconnects from WiFi my music skips for a bit until it finally pauses itself and I hit play, then it's fine.

I'm also in Washington and have a Pixel 10 and a 2025 Lariat Hybrid AWD, and have had no weird connection issues.

No issues on my Pixel 8 Pro I had previously or my 10 Pro XL I have now with either my factory Sync 3 setup or the Sync 4 12" upgrade from Panda Motorworks.
