This is really down to personal preference and needs.
Most likely recommend no plan at all. But, take a look at all the options and costs/coverages and see what works best for you. Granger on here tends to offer the plans at very near cost and I would look into them or inquire about a matching rate.

The 5/60 and 10/100 offer best value in terms of $ per time covered.

I purchased the 10/100 premium care with $200 deductible. I wanted it to be used basically as an insurance policy against major failure.

It was around $1300/$11 month after using my Ford points from purchase. I never buy extended warranties but did buy this one.

Keep in mind it's also transferable and could be a selling point too.

If you are getting a plan, get the premium care. The lesser coverages rarely make sense.

Time and mileage are dependent on your own circumstances.

Do look at the chart that Granger publishes with prices. There are some weird quirks sometimes where going up one more year of protection, or up 10k miles of protection can influence the price dis-proportionally. Sometimes in ways that don't follow logic. Like adding a year only adding something like $50 to the cost. Or adding another 10K coverage only costing another $25.

When I bought I took advantage of one of those weird pricing things. Only easily seen when looking at a table of all the possible time and mileage combos all at once. Granger shows a table like that, so is a good source for decision making.

I never buy extended warranties. But having a 2023 XLT that has been in twice for warranty work (once for transmission leak and once for a blown computer control module) already and the Maverick being a new production I bought the 7yr/125k from Granger.

Buy the premium top tier warranty. With all the computers and electronics in vehicles these days you definitely want those covered

So when should you buy? After you buy it or take a risk on price increase and buy once you are close to 3 years?

Grainger Ford and Flood Ford are basically the same price but as I found out, Grainger is in Iowa, I am in Iowa and they have to charge me Iowa sale tax, for that reason i went with Flood (NJ) no tax. I was in insurance and suggest you buy as much as you can afford and/or need, because it only counts when you are in need of ENOUGH coverage. rm

If you have a lariat (not sure about other models) add headlight coverage for $37. If one goes out it's $1600 and not covered in the plan.. Also if someone already has a plan, you can still add the coverge if you want to.
