Anyone else have an issue where their Ford Pass is saying service engine soon; but no in car check engine light or other warnings? Seems to be an app error.

This Has been in the app for about 4 days now. Multiple drive cycles and refueling. Car is running great: Add: ford.com shows no such message. Attached are photos comparing app (service) to ford.com (vehicle health).

Why are your tire pressures so high?
I think the app is checking the pressure of the SUV down the street....vehicle depicted looks nothing like a pickup....lol

But, in truth, when you check pressure cold vs warmed up, there is about a 4-5 pound difference in values.

I assume you are clicking on the message to get more information and none are presenting?

correct / it just says see your dealer - photo attached; i have read that unplugging the modem fuse resets the communication so i might try that. I tried to unplug the modem but couldn’t get the attachment wire released (behind rear seat).

Probably a bad sensor.

Your dealer can easily check to see if any codes are showing by your VIN.

quick update- unplugged fuse for modem; waited about 1 min - plugged it back in -
last night and it cleared the message (today); so probably some error with the modem and app communication

I'd scan it with Forscan if you have it. If you don't have Forscan, or any other scanner capabilities, you might want to investigate getting one.

Issue is revolved. Interestingly enough there were no codes. That why I was posting. No codes, but the app was showing a service engine soon warning with no further details. So no check engine in car; but basically a check engine warning from the app. I reset the modem by pulling the fuse and that cleared whatever the issue was in Ford App. It also seems like having a scanner or tune computer in the ecu messes with some aspect of modem communication.

A scanner doesn’t interfere with anything, it simply reads the stored codes the same as a dealership scanning the car. It tracks way more than a check engine light.

it’s a known issue - i don’t think you’re catching the modem aspect of this; nothing to do with in car alerts. I only learned this after my issue. Look it up -

“An ECU scanner can interfere with a Ford modem (Telematics Control Unit or TCU) by disrupting the vehicle's CAN bus network, which modules use to communicate
. This can cause the modem to lose connectivity, preventing FordPass remote functions and in-car Wi-Fi from working.”

Scanners are typically attached for diagnostic purposes, readings taken and then removed. I don't think anyone's concerned about the onboard modem possibly being disrupted for the couple of minutes that it's being scanned in their driveway or at a shop or dealership.

yeah but i had a tuner in the access port which might have disrupted the modem. In the sense that there was some check engine problem that got miscommunicated. Agreed: the ford pass app is dumb and it doesn’t matter what it shows lol; repeat at no point did i have a check engine light come on in the car (just the app - and it sat there for 5 days until i reset the modem) - in the ford app, online

Why are your tire pressures so high?
Nothing necessarily wrong with those pressures, especially warm. 35 cold is a "recommendation." Mine are 39 cold right now.

This is good info that would've helped explain what was going on earlier. :)
