I’m curious the percentage that ford users ford pass app doesn’t work.
I’m part of the large (?) percentage on this forum that don’t connect to Ford Pass or disconnect it if installed by the dealer at purchase.

While it is “useful” for many - my lifestyle makes remote start dangerous for me & my pets and I can lock or unlock from my fob at a distance that is appropriate for me.

My ancient iPhone works great with CarPlay & my settings are all dialed in just the way I want them. Stay off my setting screen & my lawn!

My previous Toyota had their “Car Care App” installed when I picked up the car. After a week I noticed my battery draining uncharacteristically. Not my car battery - my phone battery.

Anyway, I use the Ford Website to log in my maintenance diy servicing. Although I can schedule appointments on line of course - I prefer to call my friendly dealer.

Yeah, but as far easy to install and free as in really FREE to use…. The Ford Pass app isn’t so bad. It recovered my stolen F250 in less than an hour and my mother-in-law’s stolen Raptor in one day. So the way I look at it, FordPass app 2…. Thieves 0. 😎👍😎

Can we trade mother-in-laws?

But seriously - how do high tech ford trucks (with Ford Pass) actually even get stolen? I would think Ford Pass at least would “brick” your trucks immediately if a thief attempted a theft?

Im at about 30% chance my ford pass app “lock, unlock, or remote start” don’t work.

Everything is good with the truck, doors closed/locked, not in sleep mode, phone has connection, app is up to date but the shit app just doesn’t work. I slide the remote start over and it just spins in circles and never starts the car. 15 minutes later it decides to work but I do nothing to change my vehicle, so the app just decides to work whenever it wants to.

with this being said I’m curious how many other people barely get to use ford pass on their new $30,000+ vehicle.
Mine usually works great!
If Im 20 meters near the car it always works, if Im in Walmart sometimes get "cant connect", in a hotel room connecting fine now

True, but in the cases of both of the trucks I mentioned, they were very unique scenarios for the thefts to occur. In short my keys were locked in the truck via the keypad. I was on a picnic table less than 50 feet away from the truck. A suburban blocked my view, the aggressive thieves, which had already roken in to four pick ups before mine within a 3 mile radius, pulled to the backside of it where I couldn’t see. when they tried the door handle it was locked. They punched it with a tool to break the glass and open the door since the keys were in it….the horn/alarm didn’t go off. They drove off with the truck. I videotaped as it drove by. I had it back in less than 45 minutes. At the time, my 250 was stolen you could actually watch the truck move on the Ford pass app. They stopped that ….now you can only see the last place that it was turned off For my mother-in-law‘s Raptor also had the keys in the truck in a very secure upscale neighborhood with a gate on the driveway of the house. they jumped the gate just to try door handles for guns…when they tried the door handle, the truck was open and The alarm didn’t go off when they realized they could start the truck they started it and rammed it through the gate to get it out. Took them a couple of shots. It looks like they had to back up and move over to the right. It was just like a Tom Cruise movie “live action” crashing through the gate. Took a little longer to recover the raptor as her husband was out of town. He was the one registered for Ford pass with another truck that he owns (Ford Ranger) by the time he got the info… when he entered in the Vin for the raptor it showed right where it was. (she didn’t have the raptor currently enrolled when it was stolen, but we put the VIN in to activate it). Insurance paid full for my damage and is paying full for hers. Doesn’t matter if the keys were in the truck when they took it ….stealing a truck is still stealing a truck. Also….if you’re wondering where I live …. and why so much vehicle theft…..San Antonio baby all you gotta do is google it just to see what I’m talking about.

Works very consistently.

Worth saying Ford offers this for free and many other manufacturers charge a subscription fee for the same functionality.

Like my truck my FPA works great, fully functional. But I still do my cold morning remote starts with my key fob. It’s faster to respond.
The fact that my 24 has zero issues at 10,000 miles tells me all the crazy issues some have is fixable.

I don't have any of the issues that you have experienced, but there was an update today to 6.1 on my Android. Worth checking out to see if it helps.

Good day

Maybe completely uninstall, re-install app and reconnect to your truck.

25 XL Hybrid and an old Android phone.
The only "problem" was I got an upgrade required message a while back.
After the update, never skipped a beat.

Doesn't work that way. (lengthy drive has nothing to do with it working)

Rarely works isn't a description that allows any troubleshooting or useful suggestions.

What doesn't work when it doesn't work - exactly?

Thank you for taking an interest in my predicament. The Ford Pass app is fully functional after driving and then parking the Maverick. Several hours later, or certainly the next day, when I go to the app the top part of the screen displays a box with a yellow exclamation point and wording that the vehicle is in "Battery Saver Mode. Start your vehicle manually to access remote commands."
All other fields such as fuel level, tire pressures, etc are blank or contain dashes. If I go outside to start the vehicle I don't need the app. The point is, is to use the app to start the vehicle remotely.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
