No, because it was designed and developed in less than 3 years. And while the argument can be made for supply chain, then you adjust and make those adjustments known. Ford has left people in the dark. Tim Bartz shouldn’t have to step up and carry them. My issue is, Ford is struggling to produce. Why introduce new models when you don’t have the resources to complete them. Someone posted they just received their Bronco order 568 days later, that’s insane.
Let's make something clear here. The PRODUCT itself was designed and developed. The product planning started far earlier than that. The market research started far earlier than that. You don't just "design something" without doing a significant amount of market research. And sorry but it's your dealer's job to inform you about the sale of your vehicle, not Ford. Tim Bartz is doing his job, just on a larger scale. Your dealer should be updating you.

I swear it's moronic to think that Tim Bartz has some inside magic line to the info he's spreading/sharing. Sorry, he doesn't. YOUR DEALER has access to all the same info, they just choose not to share it but ultimately, that's their job, not Ford Corporate. It's like military chain of command.

Most of you whiners like I said just want to be coddled and have your hand held and be comforted. Ford has sent emails, they have given promotional vouchers, FITS kits. What more do you expect? If you don't like it, F&%$ing leave! Please! Just leave! Why would you buy a product from a company you complain so much about. Go buy a Toyota or something.

Just wanted to post this to counter all the negative posts.
In my opinion Ford is doing a good job.
I’m grateful they are making the Maverick now that so many trucks have grown in size and price.

This is my first Ford, and it has left me with appreciation of the brand as a whole.
I have had 2 Ford's. A 2001 mustang gt and a 2007 mustang gt. I had no issues with those cars...

If the parts don't show up when they are supposed to, things get delayed.
At least you are scheduled.
I’ve had three schedule build dates, so it doesn’t do much good to be scheduled if they don’t actually build it.

Also, my build is very minimal. No constrained parts. But Ford keeps scheduling more fully featured models on all of the build dates that I’ve had. Why don’t they build mine? Who knows? Ford isn’t saying.

Never ascribe to malice that which can be adequately explained by incompetence. So here we are.

I grew up a GM guy in a GM family. I've bought new GM vehicles. But my last three new vehicles have been Ford, Toyota, Ford. I like Ford's customer service. I love my Expedition. I think I will love my Maverick. Who would have predicted any car company, let alone Ford, would make a $23,000 hybrid mini pickup? Nobody. If I asked you a few years ago, you might have thought maybe Hyundai? or Tata motors? But not Ford.
So I'm in the Ford camp for now. Check back with me in a year!!

Do you not understand that these products have been in development for probably somewhere between 5 and 10 years? Do you not agree that the economy, supply chain circumstances and demand for vehicles overall was vastly different 5 years ago when the framework for the Maverick rollout was probably developed in concept? By the time the pandemic and supply chain crisis reared their ugly heads the process was already locked an loaded, you can't just make major changes on the fly.
Gotta chime in here. Every excuse in the world, from loyal Ford owners, protecting Ford's inaction and inabilty to produce Mavericks, and they are right,, the supply issues are far beyond just Ford. They get it,, Ford cant build a truck they cant get parts for. But, on the flip side, near every frustrated rant you hear are from folks pissed about waiting,,,yaada, yaada, yaada. The issue isnt the inability to produce the product, it's the fact that Ford WONT COMMUNICATE with their buyers! If there sitting around waiting on parts, why not get on the phone and show some loyalty to their customers, cant say they dont have the time,,right? No, most aren't mad about the wait, their mad about the disrespect. It's all about COMMUNICATION,, communication costs NOTHING, and solves EVERYTHING, everytime.

My mins started to wonder about the chip shortage and where Ford would install them to make the largest profit. Amazon bought thousands of Transit 250 vans in the past couple of years and most have CP360 since the company insists on providing safety features for it's relatively inexperienced drivers. A typical van with those features goes for 45k.

Granted Amazon will also buy 100k Rivians in the future, but they already have thousands of 2021 Transits on the road.

That's called big fleet buyer priority.

You sound like a troll, congrats! Btw, I have my Maverick so I have no horse in this race. But you’re gullible if you think all dealers have access to the same info. It’s been made very clear that other than some memos, they’re not on the same page. Hell Ford customer service doesn’t even know what’s going on half the time.

Ford themselves are in the dark. How can they communicate accurate info when thy don't even know??????????? They don't have set times when suppliers will have the chips or other parts they need. These same suppliers probably have the same issues as well wondering when they will get the raw materials they need to build the parts for Ford. Get a clue people, it's not easy right now like so many think it is.

I have no idea why I was lucky but after thinking about it and reading through this thread I was lucky. Lucky that my small town (15k people) had 1 Ford dealer and a salesman who only did order no floor sales. He was honest and knew he had allocations and knew how to do his job.

Sept 8th, I gave him a $500 check, shook hands. A week later I dropped in, I asked if I could lock in 1.9% rate that was expiring. He locked it in for me. Sent me a screen print it was locked. He then sent me a text giving me a Vin number and build date. Priority code 18. It took 97 days to get my truck. Basic XLT, white with hitch at MSRP. No Dora, no written contract ahead of time.

As far as Corporate Ford goes, not once did I get a call or an email in those 97 days. But my salesman told me my build date was pushed back 2 weeks. He had it on his computer.

I suspect my success is because of my Ford dealer's salesman.

Do I like Ford, Yes. Do I like my dealer, Yes Do I wish everyone has gotten what they ordered, Yes. So far do I like my truck, Yes

For being the oldest and most well known car company that revolutionized the world and car manufacturing as we know it, I still say they can do much better.

5-6000 units per month is horrible in my opinion when you compare it to Toyota/Honda.
How many small unibody pickups with great mileage and the starting price of a used 1997 toyota pickup does Toyota or Honda make in a month at 1 facility that also makes other popluar models?

Congratulations. Stick with that salesperson and dealer - you've got a good combo.

It's easy to say things like this and have sentiments like this when it's sitting in your garage or driveway.
Ask the people who ordered in June and are still waiting and they might have a slightly different attitude about Ford.

I ordered my Maverick well over six months ago and took delivery yesterday. I must say, it was worth the wait. I hope others that ordered before me

Sure you can to a certain extent - Look what industries did in WW2.... My comment will undoubtedly cause a few remarks, but....

this is the BEST one yet I agree 110% ,if they only communicate with us I ALWAYS have to call them, ford or the dealer NEVER contacted me at all since the day I signed the sales order and gave them a $$ deposit. As long as I know my order is in and some time I will get it, I'm ok, but when you have the Ford customer service saying, he is not sure people that ordered will be put to the front of the line, for 2023,and you may have to reorder, thats what STINKS !! I would have been fired 10 times over I left all the customers in the dark, when I was working.
