Class action suit is more of a smack upside the head to manufacturers.
Yes the lawyers make out big time no doubt about it. Lawyers are the ones doing the work. Consumers get something out of it however small.
Compare that with the NHTSA backup camera fine of $169 million dollars. I'm sure lawyers were involved and they got paid. Consumers got zip. If you think Ford didn't fight that FINE with lawyers you're naive.

Everyone talk's shit about lawyers until they need one. Then for some known reason they want the best there is. Just like doctors and surgeons, who wants one that graduated the bottom of their class?
True story. Speaking of lawyers, anyone know the difference between God and a lawyer? God doesn't think he's a lawyer.

Just so I know for future reference, where is fuse 11/12 located at?
Appreciate the tips!
Not a problem.
If you look up on the left side of the passenger footwell you'll see a plastic panel underneath that panel is the fuse box. There are plastic snaps that hold the panel on so be careful pulling it off.

So that you have some relationship this is the cabin air filter door.

Here is what the fuse panel looks like and the location of fuse 11/12.

I hope this helps.
Good Luck

I get pleasure every time a large arrogant experienced company makes a colossal mistake or proves that they don't care about people and wind up getting their pocketbook lightened. I don't think for one minute that corporate leaders are pleased when they have to pay fines. If they didn't have to pay up, how long do you think it would take to get axles? Remember the Ford Pinto, where Ford got caught selling cars that the gas tanks would explode and kill the occupants when hit from the rear? Ford calculated what it would cost to settle the accident claims versus doing a recall. They opted to pay the victims' families because it was cheaper than doing a recall. They paid in court for that decision and their reputation got tarnished. I wonder what the decision cost them in sales for the next few years? I wonder how much less the damage would have been if there had been no very public trial? Trials are a necessary evil sometimes. I have learned over the years observing trials, that caveat emptor rings true; let the buyer beware. But some of you may be right, it's meaningless. Ford still makes them and I still buy them. Or are trials meaningless? I’m not just pointing out Ford. As an example, Toyota hit a speed bump a few years back with brake problems.

👍. ☝☝☝☝☝☝☝. 👍
What I may consider to be a frivolous lawsuit, may not be frivolous to somebody who has been affected. It is not up to me to judge somebody else's situation. That is what he legal system is for.
The true purpose of a class action lawsuit is to allow a large group of individuals with similar claims against a defendant to collectively sue them in a single lawsuit, enabling people with small, individual claims (Think Sony PlayStations as an example) to seek legal remedy against a powerful entity when it wouldn't be practical to sue separately due to the cost and complexity of individual litigation; essentially, it gives power to a "class" of people to hold a defendant accountable for widespread harm, even if no single person suffered significant damages.

If you received a .12¢ or $15 check from a class action lawsuit, more than likely you had no hand in organizing the class action. You didn't shop the case around to lawyers, seeing who would take the case.
. Understandably the lawyers do the heavy lifting, organizing the case and presenting it to the courts and arguing it. IF SUCCESSFUL the lawyers get 1/3.
Then you have the principal plaintiffs. The people who actually did the research and worked putting the case together. Finding lawyers willing to accept the case as a class action. They received a larger percentage.
. The rest who received the .12¢ or $15 check rode the coat-tails of everybody else's work, therefore you got an award commensurate with your participation.

Sony PS example.
Under the terms of the Sony Fat PS3 class action settlement, Sony has agreed to pay as much as $55 million to as many as 10 million PS3 owners.
Settlement. $55,000,000
- lawyers $18,000,000
- principal plaintiffs $???????
- potential "class" group of 10,000,000 $12-$65 depending upon proof of purchase.

If you did not contribute to the actual case.
How much did you expect to to receive?

Well I've been getting regular deep sleep notices in my '22 Lariat Hybrid, and it's not driven as much as many of you folks. I have 12,600 miles on mine.
I was over my 3 year warranty on my lead acid battery, and decided to go this route as an experiment.
I had the dealer load test the battery, and also ensure they had an AGM battery on hand.
The load test came back as the battery was ok. Well of course that does nothing to remedy the deep sleep notices, so I had them install the AGM battery ($229) and I paid the core charge ($20) for the lead acid battery, and kept it.
So I'll see if the AGM does in fact cure the deep sleep issues on my Maverick.
I wasn't so worried about dropping a few bucks on this .......
- AGM was Motocraft BAGM-H4 540 CCA 80 RC 50 AH
Ok, so it's been a week since I replaced the lead acid factory battery with the AGM battery.
I noticed something unusual, but first let me back track a bit ....

My mileage through most of the time I've owned my '22 Lariat has been around 47 MPG, and the miles until empty had reached near 700 at 692 at one point.
About 2 months ago after filling up, it dropped sharply to 572 miles to empty, yet the MPG remained at 47.x - very unusual.
Now with the new AGM battery installed, I filled up the tank 2 days ago. Low and behold it shoots back up to 678 miles to empty, yet remains at 47.x MPG.
I just thought I'd mention this in this thread, because the ONLY variable that changed is in fact the 12v battery replacement!

Temps changed as well.

Outside air temps below about 45-50F really start I'm impact mpg on the hybrid.

I have found that cold weather impacts the mileage on a hybrid more so than extreme heat.
