So I am debating when would be the best time to apply for Ford Credit card so I can maximize my points AND the 0% interest rate from Ford Financing. I don't want to apply too early and then get a hit on my credit score. How do you time this? When did you apply for both or either of these? I haven't received my build date. And do not want to be stuck with another credit card by applying now. I want to wait as long as I can then apply for both or either as long as they can benefit my situation.

Curious to follow this thread. I'm not familiar with the Ford cc, but wouldn't you do both while filling out the financing paperwork at the dealer?

I have the same questions, watching.

You do this when the truck is on the ground at your local dealer.

The special interest rates on the Maverick that were advertised are protected/honored if you ordered during the advertised period. Even though they are no longer available.

Getting a new credit card and car will be two hard pulls on your credit regardless of when you do it. Hard pulls impact your score a few points for a year, and stay on your report for 2 years, nothing to worry about. That is unless you have more than 5 in 2 years, even with good credit more than 5 gives pause to some lenders.

1. Ford Financing needs to be done within 30 days of purchase. Otherwise, you would take another credit hit

2. The Ford CC is awesome. You can get that now and put $3k down with it to get the sign on bonus. The card comes with a yearly $200 bonus if you spend $6,000. That gives 3.3 cash back PLUS at least another .5 cent in value (ford points) per dollar spent. If the dealer allows it put $6k down on the card as this will maximize cash back. After $6,000 (yearly) the card becomes only valuable to use at Ford dealers for parts, service, or buying another car. I got my card in October and hit the $6k spend last month. It’s now sitting in my safe for the 1 year anniversary.

There is a trick to this, apply for both at the same time, have two browser windows open, fill out everything, and click apply at the same time. The systems do not see the other applications and if you have good credit it will go through.

The best time to do this is about a week before your truck arrives, I believe with Ford Credit if they know you ordered a Ford vehicle the approval is good for 30 days. That is how BMW FS words, I would assume Ford does the same thing.

I applied & was approved a couple weeks ago, when my truck was at the railyard, got my "delivered" check mark today, am expecting the call tomorrow that my Maverick is here, I might go look through the windows at the dealership this afternoon to see if its visible.

I don't see how this is going to work if I wanted the protected '0%' interested that was offered before they took it away. The only way to do this is to contact the dealer the week before I take the delivery and set everything up to make sure they honor the 0% interest. The credit card can also be done in same week, albeit I will get 2 hits on my credit report.

When you fill out the Credit app and get the approval you take that approval to the dealership, they will know what to do with it. You are being approved for credit and the F&I office does the rest. While you get 2 hits on your credit, I'll get one.

I got Ford Credit Card Sept 2021 with no schedule date for June 2021 order. I have been using the Ford CC as primary CC for everything. As of today (03-08-22), I have 118,000 points ($590). I used points to buy/install tailgate assist & bed mat at the dealer. I received 42000 points after taking home Maverick Feb 16th. Getting the Ford CC early (and paying off as I go) has worked for me.

I waited to secure a loan until I had conformation that Maverick was being built. The longest time I could lock-in loan rates for was 60 days.

I was going to wait until I went to the dealer to purchase my truck to get the Ford financing, my truck shipped 3/5.

You're saying go ahead and get approved for Ford financing online, even though the 0% is No longer offered and is only available when the dealer looks up your Order(incentive Protected.)
Also interested in the Ford Credit Card, only for the rewards back from down payment.

Picked up my Maverick yesterday, financing was 48 months .9%, basically free money to use.
