I installed two flexbed cubbies with a 12v outlet in one of them. In spring when it gets warmer, I plan to install an underbody cavety shield after a thorough clean (that's lots of road salt there sadly) and fluid film.

Here's a picture of the two covers where the cubbies went. Can anyone guess which one came out of the driver side, and which one was the passenger side? I bet you'll have a real hard time telling.

My plans too. I got the cubby to help block the road crap from getting up on the wires but might figure something out to close off the bottom in addition to the mud flaps I will install.

Good plan, as the added cubby by itself won't stop stuff from collecting up there.

Being in there today, the cubby blocks nothing. Definitely need the shield and mudflaps (with an extender so it closes off the entire driver side) .... I have mudflaps too, but need to wait until warmer weather again.

I've been wondering if anyone makes blow mold liners for the entire wheel well.
Leave no place the mud/snow/salt to collect...
I figure a decent undercoat with a one piece liner covering it would protect the wheel wells and provide extra protection elsewhere too.

I have cubbies on both sides too, and the driver's side has stayed much cleaner since installing the cavity shield, as you can imagine. The real telltale sign of the problem is when you see muddy water trails dripping from the bottom of the taillight on some Mavericks.

Mabett makes an underbody cavity shield cover to keep hopefully everything out of the cavity. It's a little pricy but will be worth it in the long run! I live on a 1/4 mile rock private drive and am going to order one along with mud flaps to put on my '25 Maverick immediately when it gets here. If anyone has installed one, please let us know what you think of it!

Read the reviews of the product on Amazon. I ordered it based on the reviews which weren't all positive - sitting on the garage floor now.

Let us know how your installation goes and how effective you think it will be in keeping the cavity clean!

I like what I see in the box. It will have to warm up a lot. The motorcycles own my garage and it's cold outside.
