Has anyone installed a baseplate on the redesigned '25 Lariat?

Does anyone flat tow their Maverick if so what type of braking system is used
Demco baseplate, Demco Stay 'N Play brake system and Roadmaster tow bar. Auxiliary battery charge line as well. 8K tow miles and (1) 12v battery replacement (under warranty), one battery S/W reset post battery replacement... Maverick battery S/W is flakey, and on occasion will not go into neutral tow without a battery S/W reset.

Hi DaveTS. Best to start a new thread on your question. Most likely everyone responding to the OP’s thread has a 22-24 Maverick..

Blue Ox baseplate and Patriot three. Make sure you re-program the Patriot for Hybrid. There is a special setting in the remote. How to do it is in the manual. This is very important as the actuator are travels a much smaller distance for the Hybrid electric assist brakes

Seriously reconsider putting on a Demco instead. Even though Blue Ox has revised their initial, TERRIBLE Maverick baseplate, many of us saw their failure to stand behind the failures people experienced. See picture for an example. The DEMCO is a lot beefier than the Blue Ox revised version.

I wouldn't tow a child's wagon with that little, stumpy aluminum tow bar. I wouldn't trust that bar with ANY baseplate on ANY vehicle. It even came with little, tiny cables.

The forces on these bars can be tremendous. The forces acting on those joints had to be unbelievably high.

This isn't a Blue Ox problem.

It absolutely was a Blue Ox problem.

They did not design their initial 2-piece system's welds sturdy enough to accommodate the outward pressures generated by even a "little stumpy aluminum tow bar."

You can see the evidence of the initial poor engineering by the fact that they have now modified their Maverick design to include an internal crossbar...although it is just a bolt-on item to their now 3-piece baseplate instead of the much sturdier solid Demco baseplate.

Oh! Let's play that game. A Demco failure point is the single tab used on their towbars. Hard turns bend and pop the welds on their base plates. There have been a bunch.

Choosing a towbar and baseplate is a lot like choosing a religion. You become heavily invested in your brand. You find failures in other brands. It bolsters your choice [while you ignore your brand's failures].

I have been towing with Blue Ox for too long to get into a peeing match over one-off failures every brand exhibits. I have been pleased with Blue Ox support and responsiveness.

Blue Ox plate, bar and Blue Ox Patriot brake. Works great.
Me too. 6,000+ towed miles to date. Setting to 2 on controller for hybrid.

There are no solutions for a baseplate for the 2025 Mavericks AWD Hybrids from Demco or RoadMaster as of this post but they are working on it - the refresh front end with the lowered ACC Radar is the challenge

Etrailer.com finally (today!) updated their website to state that there are currently no base plates confirmed to fit the 2025 Maverick. I have a feeling that Demco got on their case about it. I complained a week ago. Demco makes their house brand base plate too.

I talked to eTrailer last week regarding them selling the Demco Baseplate for the 2025 Maverick they could not confirm it‘s compatible being it was a 2024 baseplate but told me it should work (oblivious no clue of what they are talking about or selling) I for one would be pissed if I ripped off my front end only to find out it would not work due to the conflict with the ACC Radar since Ford lowered this on the refresh) - I notified Demco and raised the question about eTrailer claiming the 2024 baseplate fit the 2025, I have been in touch and talking to Demco for weeks and they are still working on it as well as RoadMaster so I won’t be flat towing my 2025 Maverick AWD Hybrid for awhile Demco and RoadMaster don’t have a completion date.

I now use BlueOx to flat tow my 2004 Jeep Wrangler TJ and it works fine and now BlueOx is claiming they have a functional baseplate for the 2025 Maverick AWD Hybrid I would be interested to hear from anyone using it on the 2025 and I’m still a skeptic especially with their recent issues…
