Auxiliary brake system for flat towing Maverick

Is anyone using the NSA Ready brake system to flat tow a hybrid Maverick? If so any problems specific to the Maverick?

Is anyone using the NSA Ready brake system to flat tow a hybrid Maverick? If so any problems specific to the Maverick?

I have this set up on my 2023 Lariat and towed it over 5,000 miles cross country this past summer. Absolutely no problems!

Yes I installed it myself and yes and no. The NSA Ready brake system is a very well engineered product and well made, that being said: You do have to run 2 cables thru the fire wall and attach to the brake pedal. I am a fat old man and not a lot of room by the brake pedal but the system works seamlessly. On our trip the wife and I got to the point that we could hook up or un hook in less then 5 minutes. Can you post a picture of from the inside where you drilled the two holes for the cables and where you mounted the cable bracket/plates on the brake arm?

The pictures really help, though I don’t recognize the bracket use on the brake pedal arm. Where did you attach the ReadyStop break away device?

The bracket on the brake pedal I made and used a ball lock pin so I could remove the cables when not in use but I just leave them connected. The ReadyStop break away device I installed in the left fronr wheel well, attaching pictures

Just a note to you, The white nylon screw that turns into the ReadyStop break away device it keep the cable from being pulled was hitting on my left front tire so I took it out. With the excess cable coiled up and really tiny zip ties on it there is no way someone is going to mess with you and pull it but in a brake away situation it would pull. If you need anything else just message me.

Thanks foe everything. The firewall in that location while easy to access from the interior, the steel used was difficult to drill through.
