Original order: 09/20/2022 (MY23, no build)

Rollover order: 07/20/2023 (MY24, built, with private offer)

Scheduled build: 11/30/2023

Built: 01/16/2024

Shipped: 01/19/2024

Dealer Arrival: 02/15/2024

First look at vehicle (at dealership on Sunday, 02/18/2024). Test drive on Monday 2/19.

Took delivery: 02/20/2024

Points of interest (Compared to my former 2014 Ford Escape SE):

Feels bigger, wider. Seats are more comfy. Rides smoother (longer wheel base). Just as easy to get into/out of as the Escape.

Mileage is great so far! Glad I held out for the hybrid. I put almost 500 miles on it with the full tank from the dealership. Still getting used to the infotainment screen.
Strange hybrid noises… Lots of ‘down shift’ noise when stopping, and a intermittent high pitched sound (just loud enough to notice). But not bad when using the sound system.
Sound system is a bit tinny, need to try to adjust bass/treble/fade. Possibly a new amp and speakers will fix?

Bugs from earlier Mavericks:
* Highway wind noise isn't bad
* No hood flutter at all (even around 80mph) Rock solid.
* Quieter, overall, no buzz or rattles.
* Minor connection issues with my phone (had to restart the truck once to fix), no screen freezing issues. Connection problems was the case with the Sync system in the Escape also.

First time sitting in it and driving it was in my own vehicle. No disappoints, just getting used to the differences. This is my first hybrid; I'm finding my 'normal' driving habits are fine for regen braking and acceleration. Very happy with this purchase, my first new vehicle in 17 years. The expected utility and economy are solid, and I don't mind the hard interior plastics (which I find aren't as easy to scratch as had been reported).
Shout out to the general manager at Tom Peck Ford in Clinton, WI. It's a small dealership, but this was easily one of my best buying experiences in years.

No truck worth waiting that long for.

I think Mavericks should come with "customer suffering stars on the rear windshield." Ford should affix one star for every year the customer waited. I think some on here are working on 3 stars. I only earned one.

Really nice truck. That blue looks sharp on the road.

This is great. I'm in for 1.5 stars.

Well... I guess everybody's situation is different. If I had a lot of cash on hand, I could've gotten a Maverick off of larger local dealership, but only a bit sooner without any markup. The wait for me was onerous because of what I lost in trade-in value, inflation in general (a pain for all of us), and the cost of borrowing. In the end it was a good deal for me, especially considering the deal I had with the car I traded, and Ford's private offer.

Considering how this vehicle really does fit my lifestyle like no other truck does, and Ford's improvements with quality issues, it was worth the wait for me. 😉👍

Best color for a Mav. Just ceramic coated mine this weekend, now it really shines.
I hope I can get that done also, as my previous vehicle was ceramic coated when it was new (yep, someone actually paid to ceramic coat an Escape! 😆). It helps protect the paint, and helps with resale value. 👍

My thoughts exactly, it may be Ford's cheapest offering, but I plan on keeping it for awhile and might as well keep it looking nice too.
