620 days waiting, 620 days of ownership

As of about 1700ish today, I've owned my HPR 2023 Ford Maverick Lariat Hybrid with Lux package, CP360, CP360A, SIBL + bed tie-down locking rails w/2 locking brackets for 620 days. That's the same amount of time I waited to take delivery after placing my original order for a 2022 Maverick in January 2022.

And here's the most recent photo I took of him glimmering in the sun at Carlisle Ford Nationals.

He has replacement CV axles as of April 2025, a front end alignment and replacement 12v battery as of May 2025, all courtesy of Ford's warranty.
He also has a replacement OEM rear passenger window after the original was broken out by want to be thieves in May 2025.
He got a new OEM acoustic windshield with heated wiper park area June 2025 due to an 8 inch crack that developed during a cold, snowy drive across the Midwest after Thanksgiving 2024. That crack ultimately spread to about 13 inches.

He had 20,966.4 miles on him at the time of this 620 day milestone.

He's been a great truck for me. I've enjoyed driving him and look forward to more miles of smiles behind the wheel.

You have a rare truck, I can't see spending $399 for HPR paint on a XL Maverick, but I spent it on my Lariat, because I love Red trucks!

Ordering a vehicle with a bespoke collection of options is senseless.
Buy one on the lot that is close or exactly what you're ordering and drive it home TODAY.

@Surly Old Bill hot tip Mavericks weren't available to buy off the lot easily during my waiting time frame.
By patiently waiting for the truck I wanted and ordered (which did not include bespoke items) I saved over $7500 off of sticker price.

As has been observed in the last 6 months, every dealership has at least a few sitting on the lot, and many have more than two dozen.
What service did you use to save $7500? Going through the fleet sales of a dealership and just paying msrp? Or that trick of ordering via Costco? It was the employee pricing thing that got me off the couch. 5% below msrp, when most dealerships in my area were still adding a few thousand to msrp, because they could.

Heck, the title of the thread: "620 days waiting, 620 days of ownership" should clue you in to the fact that I didn't purchase my truck in the last 6 months.
