Team Maverick,

When Mavericks first came out, this was a very popular aftermarket size. Many posted it should have been the OEM size, especially on FX4 models.

I have 60k on my OEM Falken Wildpeak AT Trails. They have been fine, lasted longer than expected, averaged 29mpg, but are a bit noisy.

Those of you who decided on 245s, how is it going? Things you like? Any regrets?

I'm excited for new shoes!

Im right there with you. Im pushing 40k on mine and I think this will be the last Midwest Winter I will get out of them. Still have tread left, maybe would get to the 50k (maybe 55k) by end of summer... but not going to make it through another winter. So I am starting to window shop / watch for deals/sales just in case.

I know on this site that many people were disappointed with the falkens, but I am neutral. never had an issue, not impressed, but not disappointed...got the job done at the end of the day.

But I would love to hear what others on here have experienced with the 245s while I keep an eye out for tires.

Local Olympian here. I had two sets of 245/65/17's on my '22 Maverick Lariat EB. Drove over 100k miles on that size. First was MAXXIS RAZR AT's and second was Predator New Mutant X-AT's. Both fit really well. Loved them. No issues on size or fitment. The MAXXIS RAZR's are the best AT tires I've ever owned. The Predator New Mutants are good. Got approx 70k miles out of the RAZRs. Probably lost about 1 MPG with the RAZRs, and another 1 MPG with the Predators.

I now have a '25 Lariat Hybrid AWD. No more AT tires for me. Now it's all about gas mileage.

I have a 2025 Lariat hybrid put 245/17s on steel rims for 4 months I spent in Wyoming. Didn't want the stock 19s back in the hills. My mileage didn't really change, 39-40, which is what it is now in SoCal with stock ones back on.

The 245/65 size is "plug and play." Just do it!
The extra width (about 10mm) pushes the tire closer to the edge of the fender. It fills out the wheel well perfectly, giving the truck a more "muscular" and proportional look that matches its off-road capability.

So are you running four LRR 215/65R17 inflated to 50psi?😆Add a few hypermileage tricks and I'll bet that you will become a champion! 🏆 Have fun and enjoy your truck!

Thank you Neighbor. I almost pulled the trigger on the Maxxis after your initial review! I

Perfect. I have some fender flares too so a wider tire would work well

Recently went to 245/65/17 on my hybrid from the stock Continentals. Love the way it looks. No complaints yet!

That's for sure! Wheel fender flares will look solid!

If you don't mind my asking, what took you to Wyoming?
