Recently purchased a 2022 Hybrid FWD and the factory Michelins were down to 4/32nds. So the deal gave me a little better price to cover the cost of new tires.

The selection criteria used for the new tire purchase was quiet on highway, 3-peak snow rating, good for mild off-road trekking, and a strong look/stance.

After working with my longtime tirerack sales person, Ford Kinyon, we selected Falken Wildpeak AT’s in a 245/60/18. Gives about an inch of width and overall diameter vs stock.

My wife and I just drove the truck to Montana from the Chicago area and the highway results were outstanding. Very good tracking and a quiet ride. We also did some mild to moderate off-roading and the results were similarly excellent.

The verdict is positive for these tires!! A few pics are below…. The grades don’t show in the pics but they were as much as 30degress.

Thanks for the pics and review.

These are the A/T Trail model correct? There are currently three different Wildpeak A/T models available.

30 degrees, are you sure?
even a gradient of 30%, which is 16.7 degrees, is very steep.

at any rate, OP has some seriously big beefy tires. (y)

That OP does! Interested in his MPGs over the course of the trip with the hybrid and 245 ATs.

I plan to keep it to 235 for weight. 245 Wildpeak ATs are some heavy tires.

Without the offroad screen to tell him the grade I really can't imagine 30 degree grades. Steepest grade going to my mountain property is 13 degrees. 2.5x steeper would be something else.

Yeah … we always tend to overestimate grade changes … but given I have only front wheel drive on the Mav, I was expecting wheel spin and got none with the Wildpeaks. I stopped a few times on a steep hill to see if I could restart and they gripped amazingly well. we have owned a couple of outbacks, four foresters and an ascent and they didn’t do any better than the Mav w the Falkens. I was pleasantly surprised and hope it does as well in snow as on the trail.

My 2022 XLT FX4 came with Wildpeaks. Great tires.

Unfortunately given I put the Wildpeaks on the day after I bought the car I have no baseline. But not sure I really care too much as I am coming out of a 2010 Tundra 5.7 liter which got 13 mpg on premium! So whatever I get with the Wildpeaks is step-change improvement.
My son now has the Tundra and loves it!

Overall, i am really surprised how much I have grown to like the Mav’s size, road manners, and overall functionality. Plus I don’t have to haul my nearly 70 yr old carcass in out of the Tundra!

I put Wildpeak ATs on my '23 Hybrid XL Maverick and have noticed that I average about 36-41mpg depending on the time of year (worse in the winter, better in summer), versus around 39-43mpg on the original stock tires for my driving habits. The mpg hit is noticeable, but the tires are pretty nice to drive on and lock up well in less than favorable driving conditions. I don't do anything truly gnarly, but for gravel, light forest roads, wet pavement and a little snow they are perfectly fine.

Booyah 👊🏽 😁 👍🏽 🇺🇸
For non AWD or Tremor's
I like the trail terrains wild peak or BFG tires.

I got 51000 out of my BFGOODRICH Trail Terrains and had a solid 30% left.

Preaching to the choir on this end. Love the A/T Trails. I will have a set on the FX/4 when the Pirelli's wear out. I will stick to stock size due to weight considerations. (Well maybe 235. :ROFLMAO: )
