Lighting was good and caught a good photo of my 24 Maverick Tremor and my dad's 98 Ranger today. Tried to buy that truck off of him for years before the Maverick came out.

Love my Maverick but those old Rangers are good old trucks. Had a 94 Ranger for the first vehicle I ever bought back in 96 and it was a lot of fun, but it was only RWD and was useless in any kind of weather. Lots of cussing involved when it snowed usually.

I miss my old 98 Ranger it was a good rig, it was lowered on a DJM 4/5 kit and rode amazing. The reason I got my Maverick was to do a “modern” version of it.

I had 1988 Black Ranger 4x4. Loved the truck...But the 4x4 dif. leaked oil forever. And, it was a time when AC was just becoming stock/option. I sold it for a Blazer.

I’ve had 3 Rangers:
1997 Reg cab with the 5 speed /2.3L in the same green as the OP. Great little truck, slow as molasses but utterly reliable. Bought factory alloys off of EBay, rolled on a bed liner and changed the radio. Sold it years later for the same amount I paid.

I then bought an 1999 XLT 3.0l/auto 4WD in white. Loved the 4th in bad weather but this truck originally came from Maine. I dealt with rust issues, and a bad ground. the 3.0L was not powerful but reliable. I used Corroseal and paint on the frame after countless hours or scraping surface rust. The white paint was flaking off in the hood/roof ( common problem for Ford/GM at that time) Traded it in for my daughter’s first car.

Last Ranger was a 2010 Ranger XLT Reg cab with a 5 speed automatic. This was my father in law’s truck that he won in a raffle. He Rhinolined the bed and installed a lockable hard tonneau cover. The truck had Sirius/XM and it stayed on the 50’s channel. This was given to my wife and myself after he developed dementia. We kept it for years and it gave dutiful service and sold it during Covid for an obscene value to CarMax. This became the down payment for my current Maverick. I don’t miss a regular cab but will always cherish that truck.
