That's right, I live in a working class area where many men and women served in the military and work with their hands. We do not have 60-70K to dump on some glitzy EV you left coast Hollywood types seem so willing to embrace. But, good for you. You live in an affluent neighborhood of LA with globs of money. Good for you sounds like the capitalist system has been good for you.. That's what it is all about. America First. Congrats on that.

Our local GMC dealer has been sitting on a $152,000 Hummer for 3 months now. Maybe one of your neighbors would be interested in it.
My neighbor that would be interested in it has already bought a new Hummer EV. He’s a handyman. His business is called outlaw construction in Santa Clarita, CA. He works with his hands. He also has a 3/4 ton pickup that he pulls his 35 foot twin engine (inboard) boat with when he goes to the Colorado river, and he’s got a 30 foot or so toy hauler for off-roading in the desert. And his wife drives a new S class Mercedes. Just because you work with your hands doesn’t mean you are poor. And the left coast Hollywood types you’re referring to are really the middle class, in the suburbs of LA. And they consistently vote Republican.

As to whoever wants to think West Coast people are all into evs. That just isn't so!

As to why people buy what they buy,
Isnt always pending what they can afford ... meaning some people are more budget minded than debt happy.

To that
EV hummer
whatever the reason is people buy one of those... that's a giant bling bling item.
Says something about the driver whether you like it or not.

Shouldn't this thread be in "Off Topic"
It's on topic, it's under (Maverick EV (Full-Electric BEV)) So it concerning EV vehicles I believe it's definitely on topic. It may not be something someone may not consider before purchasing an EV necessarily. Yet it is what those have dealt with in the past and seems to be a continuing trend.

I will go a step further. Maverick's are not yet EV's. The thread or topic was most likely intended to see how much if any issues or topics on EV or EV Maverick. Therefore I believe you are the only one suggesting it is off topic. Especially after over 2 months being posted or the thread being started, under "Maverick EV (Full Electric BEV)"

Now my question to you, why or how can you possibly think it is off topic? Especially since it is concerning full electric vehicles.

You can generate you own gas by eating lots of legumes. The byproduct is highly flammable.

Timing is everything

Picked up a new Bolt EUV - after discounts and credits came in around 24k. Just sold it to caravans over 2 years later for 23k. We were going to keep it to compliment our 25 maverick for city drives but when I saw I could recoup my money I jumped on it. Buy low, sell high.

I think the best play for anyone who can charge with 220 at home is a true EREV ( all electric drive + smallish battery for 100 miles battery range and an ICE to get another 300 or 400 miles!

Hoping we’ll see an erev maverick, if not the upcoming erev Scouts look promising.

I preferred baked beans, Budweiser and eggs for a meal.
Adding a little Tabasco sauce to the eggs kicks it up a notch as Chef Emeril Lagasse used to say.
But then again I eat mostly Whole Foods.

We leased our Mach-E for various reasons, not the least of which was $15K off cap cost, and Ford incentivising the lease with artificially high residual values, to move inventory. We were originally shopping ICE SUV's because of the "value" proposition, but all the incentives between Ford & the dealer made the Mach-E considerably cheaper than comparable ICE SUV's. So, we decided to give it a try for 3 years. And I must say, as primarily my wife's DD, it's fantastic! Lot's of benefits to an EV if you can: A) charge at home on cheap (relatively) electric rates, & B) generally daily drive well below the range. Your reward is a wonderful, smooth, QUICK driving experience, serious fuel cost savings, and practically no maintenance. It's really perfect for our use case. 🤠

Anyone; and I do mean anyone, can make their own electricity.

In whole, or in part.

No one can "generate" their own gasoline.
Well we can make our own diesel. I’d argue easier than solar.
gas not so easy. But diesel can run and just about any oil. Knew a guy once that did all his own. It was kinda cool cause you could tell which oil he made his fuel from based on smell when he went by.

Well, not all EVs cost that amount of money. Fortunately, I got mine (2021) before the government took away the tax credits in 2022. Right about 27k. And I’m retired military, with a pitiful pension. No more tax credit means I subsequently bought the cheapest hybrid I could find.

Actually, it can! It has fake engine noise in the cabin, if you want it, or it can be turned off. 🤠
