Sure you CAN but take 40 to 50 hours doing so. LOL.I know for a fact you don't need a 220 volt 40 to amp plug to charge a Tesla. You can use a standard 3 prong wall outlet. I've done it several times. It's slow, but it will work. And the cable for the upgraded wall charger is not heavy at all. My elderly neighbor came over to check mine out when I got it installed and he was surprised how small and light it is.
Like my 220 volt setup has 30 amp breaker meaning I could charge at 20 amp no issue BUT take 16 to 32 hours charge time. Level TWO charger rate is 40 amp 220 volt. So need 50 amp breaker setup. Slower than that you cant take advantage of the charge rate at night.
