I am flat towing my Maverick with an old Brake Buddy I have been using with my Jeep. Apparently the Maverick brakes are electric as opposed to vacuum. My question is do the electric brakes stay activated with the key off? The 12 V receptacle goes off after a few minutes and so you have to wire a 12 V receptacle off the battery to the brakes. My question is do the electric power brakes stay activated in neutral tow mode?

As far as I know the "electric" brake assist on the Maverick is NOT active during the Neutral Tow function. You still have braking without it, just not the assist ( sort of like power steering).

On my XLT Hybrid in order to tow one must engage the "Neutral Tow" mode and turn the key to the "Off" position. That would imply any electronic braking is turned off. With that said I found the Maverick brakes to be very sensitive. I use a RVI2 Brake supplemental brake and it took a bit to find the correct sensitivity to keep from the RVI2 from activating the Maverick brakes under light braking.
I ran a 12v line from the underhood battery jump post into the left footwell area and installed a 12v receptacle (cigarette lighter) for the RVI2 brake to plug into.

I put my Maverick into tow mode on long hill and turned the key off and let it roll down the hill and the power brakes were still working. However, I have heard the factory 12 v receptacle will work for a few minutes after the key is turned off so I’m wondering if that is the same on the brakes. Still trying to figure it all out.

I would expect that part of tow mode would be to leave the power to the brake assist to be left on to some degree.

I'm towing with an old Brake Buddy. I wired a socket to the battery under the seat (on the proper side of the negative battery monitor sensor). I lower the sensitivity to 2, and with the pressure set at 30 PSI, it is way too high. I have driven literally thousands of miles without activating the BB, but I did twice in Elko, NV a couple weeks ago at a very slow speed. I guarantee you, the "power" of the brakes was massive, and the truck was definitely off. I'll be setting the BB PSI down as low as I can get it, like 5-10 PSI on my next trip out.

I started out at 12 psi originally and found that the lower the pressure, the shorter the throw to the pedal from the BB. At 12 psi the BB wasn’t pushing the pedal far enough to activate the Maverick brakes. I used 22 psi on my last trip with the sensitivity on 5. Seems to work well there, the few times the BB activated I could feel it but didn’t seem excessive. Going to drop sensitivity to 4 next trip.

I'm pulling the Maverick with a 2020 Ford Transit-based LTV (11,000 GVW). When the BB applied in Elko, it definitely PLANTED the Maverick and RV when I stopped.
It was a good test of the Alert system (light hadn't previously lit for the 2000 mile trip) and the BB's ability to stop a breakaway. But I do not normally want it's "help" except 1. to be legal and 2. in case of breakaway. I'll try around 15psi for the next trip.

Which brake buddy unit are you using?

So does anybody know yet for sure if the electric assisted brakes stay active in neutral tow mode or not?

I don't know but would expect that would be one reason for running truck every six hours!

I believe running a charging wire would alleviate starting the truck every 6 hours but that still doesn't answer my question.
