Not using the Parking Brake on a normal automatic is even more damaging than on a manual transmission. Again, that little roll is stressing the transmission each time.

The HF35 has pretty big parking teeth/pawl. The load takeup isn't likely to go 'damaging it every time'.

It kind of doesn’t matter what tranny. If you let your vehicle roll into park, you hurt your tranny.

And every time you drive it wears the components in your engine and transmission a little more.

I honestly don’t know the stress that it may or may not put on my eVCT!
The stress is the weight of the vehicle, when not parked on level ground, on the parking break pawl in the transmission. The cCVT and conventional automatic transmissions both have a parking pawl.

Yes, you are correct. Everytime you drive it wears the transmission. So, why would you wear and tear when you park, especially when there is an alternative?

do what you want

This is my first vehicle with an electric "emergency" brake. When I first got it I didn't care for it. On other vehicles I have used the manual e brake to get to a safe area when my brakes failed. This would be impossible with the Mav as you cannot modulate the force applied. This has happened maybe 3 times in my 50 years of driving. But now having the Mav for a bit over a year I use it every time I park the car, very easy. In the past I only used the parking brake on manual transmission cars when parking. This was one item I hated when I first got it but like it now.
While you cannot "modulate the force applied", you can use the electric break in an emergency. Something I don't want to test at speed.

So, I don’t mean to argue, but it is STUPID not to engage the parking brake before selecting “Park” on ANY vehicle!

Can't make hand break turns with this set-up

Do you put your truck up on jackstands every time you're finished driving so it doesn't put stress on the shock absorber seals, springs, and tires?
We are not talking about "stress" on the transmission per se. Those of us that have lived in areas with steep inclines have experienced the difficulty shifting out of park when the weight of the vehicle is on the parking pawl. This is where the damage can occur

You are not arguing wit me. I agree that you should apply the parking (emergency) brake first to prevent the parking pawl from locking up. It is a good practice.

I grew up on the Monongahela river valley where such a practice was a necessity.

I must admit that now that I live in South Texas, where the only hill is an ant hill, I sometimes don't use the parking brake.

Not even CLOSE in comparison. I really don’t care how you abuse your transmission.

It's a shame that C8 Corvettes have no manual trans and an electric parking brake. Something not right about that. I guess many cars of that type are like that now.
Wait, what? The new Corvettes do not have a manual transmission? Isn't that what makes driving them fun?

I DESPISE the electronic parking brake. That is one of my biggest disappointments with the Maverick. As others have mentioned, the manual brake can be quite useful in certain driving conditions like ice or wet clay dirt roads. It is an added tool in the car control tool box, and I really miss it. Oh, and it can be fun in certain instances too, haha. Seems like I remember reading on here somewhere that somebody engaged it while in motion and the electronic nanny said nope? Now, if someone could figure out how to make it function like the one in the '24 mustang(drift brake?), that would be somewhat better.
