Check the right rear speed sensor wiring harness. Mine had a wire with compromised insulation by the junction to the main harness, and would throw the code, occasionally clearing.
I'm handy but just an amateur mechanic at best. Do you have pictures or a video link that shows how it's done?

I don't but there is lots of info. on the web. The sensors are easy (fairly obvious when looked at from the back of the wheel) to access and the electrical connectors can be removed with the sensors in place IIRC. It may be easier to remove the sensors, though, using an 8mm wrench. Use very small electrical probes or fine wires to access the conductors on the wiring side connectors and compare the voltage(s) being supplied from the ABS module. If they are different it points to a wiring issue. If they are the same, swap the sensors side to side and if the fault code changes to the left it's a bad sensor. If it's a wiring issue in the wiring on the harness from the wheel to the main harness the fender liner needs to be removed, fairly easy and a panel removal tool helps. I replaced the harness but could have repaired the wire.

Cheers.

Just picked up my Mav from the dealership. It is now working normally again.
All the work fell under the manufacturer's warranty.

Here's a picture of the dashboard and the mechanic's diagnosis.

Damn, I’m Canadian but I don’t speak or read French! 😉

Quick translation then.
The technician found an abnormally high resistance between Pin 4 of C135A and Pin 1 of C426 (whatever that means).
Then, he opened the right rear wheel harness and found corrosion about 40cm away from the ABS speed sensor.
Fixed that and all the warning lights disappeared.
He then adds that no new error codes are being generated.

That short harness seems to be a problem spot. Glad it was an easy fix.

Cheers.

The good news is there is insulation and the systems being disabled until warm up help prevent damage. Sport mode is a good idea as you'll run the Atkinson instead of the electric power.
You don't want power going into or out of the Li-Ion when it's frozen.

No need to change modes unless it's just a personal preference. The operating strategy protects the battery under all conditions and will not allow charging outside of safe parameters. By the way, Sport mode does not prevent the battery from charging. It only prevents it from operating in electric only mode. But in normal conditions the electric motor is even more eager to assist in acceleration than in normal mode. That means it still constantly charging and discharging as in every other mode. If it's too cold for the lithium battery to safely take a charge. The operating strategy will prevent charging until safe to do so. The truck is designed to do what it needs to do in the background to. Protect itself. The operator just uses his own preferred settings for his comfort and convenience.

Thanks for the correction.
The adage that one should not believe everything you read applies to my statement, as that was what was indicated. Your description makes sense to me. I deleted my earlier misinformation.

As far as selecting the preferred mode setting goes, this site had what seemed to be a good mode description of where and why you would want to select one mode over another.
Since it seems likely to be more often than not that the "normal" mode would be applicable, I wonder if that's why the truck returns to that setting.

Normal is the default settings because it's the best balance between performance and economy. I do wish it would also stay in the economy setting if that was the last one used because some do prefer it. But I 100% understand why it would not stay in tow, slippery, or sport mode because those are for specific conditions that are very likely to be different the next time you enter the vehicle. And they should be intentionally selected if desired.
Also. I can see a customer unknowingly switching modes then bringing the truck to us because it no longer has the power it one did, the engine runs all the time. Or seems to slow down too aggressively when the foot is taken off the accelerator and is now using too much fuel. Trust me. It WOULD happen some customers have complained about a lot of things that they inadvertently changed we without realizing it. 😅

I trust you, but I have a hard time believing that any Ford customer would ever complain about anything ever....😉
