Ecoboost Battery Recall - any updates on this?

Thanks. I just checked Ford Pass app and it’s now showing parts available for that recall. I’m going to schedule with dealer asap. Will be interesting to see if they replace battery as I‘m out of warranty like the OP, and I‘ve reported battery issues in past to the dealer when it was still covered under 3/36.

just had the recall completed this morning via mobile service. They replaced battery with new AGM. Happy that original battery replaced even though I’m outside 3/36 warranty.

I got a notification that a solution has been found. Dealership will inspect the battery and if, IF, it has a number that is associated with a bad batch, dealership will replace it. I have an appointment next week and will post an update. Hope this helps

UPDATE: Had Ford mobile tech come today and they took one look at the EFB and told me I would be getting a new AGM battery for FREE. The tech began working and had a new AGM battery installed under an hour. The whole process was easy, convenient, and best of all FREE.

Did they comment or does the work order show they followed the manual instructions?
Reset the Battery Sensor and told you to park over night locked for BMS relearn?

I would hope recall using mobile service would be free, most seem to.

I was there the whole time they completed the recall. There was no work order to speak of although I did sign a form that showed the work was completed per Ford guidelines. I also saw a printout of the state of the battery and the charging system after installation. Those documents were uploaded to my trucks file at the dealership, so I’m told. As far as the BMS the tech used a computer hooked up to the OBD2 port to reset the BMS. As I mentioned tío es I was at work so leaving overnight was not an option, but the auto stop feature and all other functions have been fully operational.

Called dealer last week and they said the battery recall was a go - made an appointment and got it replaced today along with 4 other recalls. So after 3 years got a free new battery.

Software updates made the info screen brighter/clearer and more responsive.

Also - didn't lose my drive modes when they did all the software updates, that surprised me.

I also received the updated letter from Ford yesterday, indicating parts (batteries) are now available. So, I'm happy to get a new AGM battery in my out-of-warranty Mav, even tho my OEM non-AGM battery has been fine.

I just got that letter yesterday too. I have a few of the different recall notices all stacked up. Need to make an appointment!

Yeah, I also have the seatbelt buckle recall, but I'm going to wait on that one, since Ford is giving us 15 years or 250K miles.....
