My ‘23 XL reverts to ‘NORMAL’ mode when I shut it off. Is there a way to make it stay in ‘ECO’ mode (or any mode I choose) when I shut it off, until I manually change it?

I’ve never used eco mode and have yet to get below 40 mpg. However there are threads down at the bottom where I’m sure this is discussed. My ‘23 XL reverts to ‘NORMAL’ mode when I shut it off. You have to change it every time.My ‘23 XL reverts to ‘NORMAL’ mode when I shut it off. Is there a way to make it stay in ‘ECO’ mode (or any mode I choose) when I shut it off, until I manually change it?
Or use ForScan and remove unnecessary modes. You can also remove them all, then reselect them in the order you want to scroll them.Make pressing the button 5 times part of your routine.
Seems like I only have to hit the button four times........... However, I never was very good with the new math concepts now in style...Make pressing the button 5 times part of your routine.
It is different for Eco vs hydrid.... we eco people only need to push it 4 times. And I do that every time I start the truck...love how it holds the rpms down during slow speed driving.Seems like I only have to hit the button four times........... Yes, I am nit-picking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()
So, another advantage for the EB!!! There is a 20% increase in efficiency when selecting eco mode with the EB!!! I will add this to my ever-growing list!!!!It is different for Eco vs hydrid.... we eco people only need to push it 4 times. It’s 4 after the 17 OKs to get through.Seems like I only have to hit the button four times........... However, I never was very good with the new math concepts now in style...![]()

I’m just used to Eco now. I don’t use Forscan. My dumb ass would probably activate the self destruct!Or use ForScan and remove unnecessary modes. You can also remove them all, then reselect them in the order you want to scroll them.
For example, mine goes Slippery, Sport, Mud/Ruts. That's it.
IMHO, Eco mode is squishy and pointless. I never once got better MPG with it vs. Normal. Sport is only there for me when I want to mess around - which is rare but it's funny seeing coal rollers in the rear view. And I tested Eco for a full tank in both my Maverick EB and Escape Hybrid.
It is surprisingly easy to use, and if you watch the videos on how to disable/enable drive modes on the Maverick they are very straight forward. The issue is that you have to pay for a trial period of ForScan - which is pretty crappy. But you can also disable the door chime, hyper flashing and many other things very easily. If you ever get the itch and have a laptop, all it takes is the trial and an OBD II to USB and then follow through the videos.I’m just used to Eco now. I don’t use Forscan.
