I agree, my hypothesis is that the ECO mode offers little to no value at highway speeds. Just having a little fun with data collection.
Also, that drive is EXTREMELY boring, so I need something to occupy my brain besides music, podcasts, or recorded books :). I make that R/T drive every two months.
Try Sport Mode next time you get bored.

Agree with the highway vs city driving comments. At highway speeds, the vehicle is constantly maintaining speed and needs hybrid mode.

I regularly use the energy coach feature in my Maverick just to see what exactly happens with various road conditions. With the help of the coach, I can boost my trip mpg from upper 30s up to 45 or more just by reacting to the the road via the accelerator to keep the mode in electric.
I filled it up yesterday and then drove about 50 miles in a mixture of 10% highway at 55 and 90% stop and go, in Normal mode. I am one of those that prefers coasting to a stop whether its at a light or in traffic. To my delight, I ended the day at 51.4 mpg. But even better, watching the rear view mirror at those driving bigass tanks, frantically flipping me the bird and cursing me out....PRICELESS!

Last time I did a 4 hour straight highway drive at 75mph, I got about 37mpg, it’s less than my 50mpg in town driving, but I’m not mad at 37 either
Yeah, when I get depressed about *only* getting 36-37 mpgs @ 75 mph instead of my usual 45-50 mpgs around town, I remember my Outback 2.5 only got 27 mpgs on the highway at 75 mph. So I'll take it....

The best way to improve mileage on my 2024 Maverick Lariat eco-boost is to turn off the air conditioner when it’s 100° but I’m going to pass on that

It can degrade your AC - but if already at temp - nothing to improve.

It can improve regaining speed in cruise control calmly - but if not happening much - nothing to improve.

Otherwise it's changing the brake and Go pedal mappings to make it easier for YOU to drive more economically.

Therefore at set speed on CC - there will be little to no improvement since YOU aren't doing any input.

And since you can drive exactly the same way without the pedal mappings in Normal mode - you can make even that match.
