Anybody know if there's a part # for the small coin-shaped button that covers where the physical key goes in the driver door handle? I noticed this morning that it's missing on my 2022 Maverick. Found a part # for the actual door handle, but looking at the diagram on the Ford site there doesn't appear to be a listing for just the "button."

Ford put one on my F250 when they did the "Key Hole" delete. So there probably is something in the parts inventory.

I believe he’s talking about a circle that would cover this keyhole….maybe??

Ken, what do you think is behind the round plug??😁

The built-in Keypad = driver's door.
For those thinking it
Yes I realize this is not a Maverick door handle, but I don't think they redesign the hole per vehicle. I'll bet it's pretty much a generic size.

Not sure why one would want that covered?
My smart car came from the factory with a keyhole plug.
Keeps dirt and debris out, even though there's a little spring flap that's supposed to do that.
I've never had reason to add one. I had one on the smart. I may put one on the Maverick.
Some folks like to add vinyl tailgate letters or colored knobs rings.
I may add a keyhole cover 🤷‍♂️

The Keypad is an indication that this is the driver's door.

Yeah, Glen…. I see it now I was looking at the “uncut dimple” in the handle part. 😎

People want this hole covered because when they do a “lock cylinder delete” for anti theft ..it takes out the cylinder so you can only get in your truck with the remote. That’s so no one can “twist the cylinder” with channel locks on the Ford doors (mostly the 150s and Superdutys)….or stick something in the keyhole to turn it. Hope I explained it good enough.

Yep, that's it.
Is it the same keyhole on the Ford that I have pictured?
I suppose 2 would be in order.
One for the Driver's Door AND
One for the Tailgate.
They are about $12 and fit Ford

Interesting. Never heard of such.

So if the truck's battery (or key fob battery) goes completely dead, how does one unlock the truck?

It's really not much different than my Buick Encore. The lock was covered.
You had the remove the cover to use the key.
