Does the front plate bracket get factory installed?

My state requires front license plates however and I noticed it was on my order sheet from the dealer. I asked my dealer to remove it and he said he can't. Does anyone know if the factory installs the bracket or if it is just on the build sheet and the dealer installs it? I really do not want holes drilled in my front bumper!

How did they get that so wrong? There's usually a couple dimples cast into the plastic where you have to drill the holes.

I asked my dealer to not to install it. It now sits on the shelf in my garage. I mounted the license plate with stainless steel straps, no holes drilled. The Factory bumper does have dimples where the holes are to be drilled for mounting the bracket.

The dealer installs it. You can ask them to not install it. (but if that is a usual part of the prep in that dealership, don't be surprised if the PDI guy installs it anyway...he may not get the message in time)

My dealer said if the factory does not install it then they will not install it either. But I am nervous they will forget and do it anyway. I literally want zero dealer prep no front plate, no dealer stickers, no plastic taken off the seats, not even a wash. I guess I better just remind them once the truck is shipped.

It is only dealer installed, and only comes with the truck if the dealer is located in a front plate state. There are 2 dimples in the front bumper where you drill, beyond me how someone could screw that up and mount it crooked. It does not screw in, it uses plastic rivets, so you need that tool to mount it.

As others said just ask to not have it installed and they shouldn't. I wanted mine done and then put my LA Kings plate on. They did the install and put my plate on. The thing that surprised me is I was told the tonneau cover was a dealer install but it was already done when the truck came off the car hauler.

Same, likely a task given to the newest person in the shop. Sometimes it's the salesman, which is even worse.

No. Forgot to ask my dealer to not drill my bumper, then on pickup day my salesman told me, "I told them not to drill your bumper. But just so you know, it's illegal to not run a front plate in Washington...do with that what you will *wink wink*."

It's a secondary offense in Washington and I've yet to be stopped for anything else, so no ticket.

Last I checked it was a dealer installed option. I would tell them not to install it. I have seen far too many messed up license plate mountings to know better.

I purchased this license plate mount. It is a no-drill setup, it looks and fits great.

It's dealer installed. I hated it. So I lowered where mine is now. Looks better and yes, I don't mind the black plugs. And no, it doesn't affect operational temperatures. I did the same thing on my 2015 Prius.

Dealer installed mine crooked. I had to drill a new hole to fix it. Lame

I watched my 2023 come off the vehicle transport truck like this.
The 2024 looked dealer installed and very crooked, but I bought that from lot stock so cannot confirm.
