No. Forgot to ask my dealer to not drill my bumper, then on pickup day my salesman told me, "I told them not to drill your bumper. But just so you know, it's illegal to not run a front plate in Washington...do with that what you will *wink wink*."

It's a secondary offense in Washington and I've yet to be stopped for anything else, so no ticket.
Front plate required in Idaho and if it isn’t there it gives coppers an excuse to pull you over.

Same law here, but I have not installed a front plate for a very, very long time. Cops don't pull you over around here unless you are violating traffic laws (speeding, DWI, running red lights...)

Was surprised when I bought my new Maverick (in CA) and the dealer said they now have to install temporary plates with a number before I could leave the lot. When I got the new plates in the mail a few weeks later I was again surprised to see that the license plates were first sent to the dealer, and then he applied the registration stickers (crooked of course) and sent them to me in the mail. Went to put on the new plates, and realized the Ford dealer had stripped out all but one screw. Fixed that by ordering larger screws off Amazon and redoing the threads.

It's dealer installed. I hated it. So I lowered where mine is now. Looks better and yes, I don't mind the black plugs. And no, it doesn't affect operational temperatures. I did the same thing on my 2015 Prius.

My state requires front license plates however and I noticed it was on my order sheet from the dealer. I asked my dealer to remove it and he said he can't. Does anyone know if the factory installs the bracket or if it is just on the build sheet and the dealer installs it? I really do not want holes drilled in my front bumper!
In NJ we require a front license and mine came with the bracket not mounted. The dealer installed at pick up time when my permanent plates came in. So mine was NOT factory installed.

I went through a lot of trouble to make sure dealer (CA) doesn't drill the bumper for front plates. As many here mentioned, dealer refused saying it's CA law that they need to put front plate with temp number before I can leave the lot. However they said if I supply a plate holder that does not need drilling, they can accomodate. So I bought one from Amazon that's zip tie based and dropped off to the sales person and made sure this is broadcast to all the crew involved in the delivery.
In case of my previous previous car, even though I went through the same thing, the pre delivery crew still drilled it.

Man I feel sorry for you folks. Looks like they used a screw gun with a nut driver and license plate screw to drill the holes. Versus a 1/8 th drill bit in the dimples to pre drill then screwing it in. Or they stuck the bracket up there screwed into the first dimple and blind drove the last screw. Damn.
The rear bumper doesn't come predrilled or have inserts either. Or mine didn't.
My salesman came out to put on my temp tag on the rear before I went home.. No pre drilling just nut driver and plate screw. I asked him "you want me to do it at home?" He said he had it. I replied don't "F" up. He did good, but I hovered, believe me. Obviously salesman may vary in plate installation or pre drilling in general.
