Does Maverick have rear window defroster??

Power-Sliding Rear Window with Privacy and Defrost.

True. But I do not see any heating elements on the glass and there's no button in climate controls either. Gotta call someone tomorrow...huh

I think it depends what area of the country you live in. I've lived all over. The only time I've used the rear defroster regularly was in New Orleans.

Thought I saw that....one of those little details that made me pull the trigger on the Lariat.

It is integrated with the sliding rear window. No strips like normal, top and bottom heat and will probably be activated when you put the main defroster on or the mirror heaters.

Im confused - you showed us a pictured of actuator and powered window - where did you see a heater in that?

to be fair, Ford did say it had heated rear back in June, but quickly removed it from most if not all documentation. Do any of the current order guides actually mention a heated rear window?

31-Degrees this morning. Frost all over the truck, back window as well. Took about 12 minutes to clear totally just using heat from inside the vehicle. Once moving, nothing froze to it again, back window stayed pretty clear.

EDIT: Finally read post #18 above. I think the key is heated vs defrost. I guess I'll get to play with it when mine shows up.

I assume the capability got dropped even though it is covered in the manual and there is even the following warning:

Note: Do not use razor blades or other sharp objects to clean or remove decals from the inside of the heated rear window. This can cause damage not covered by the vehicle Warranty.

There are conditions that a defroster is necessary, regardless that the back window is straight. Do all pickups not have one? Think Ford skimped on this one.

It was initially part of the Larait Lux Package, but very early on before people started getting vin numbers they removed rear defogger. Not a happy camper because I use it a lot. Oh Well!
