I assumed the Maverick had bluetooth at all levels but this youtube video points out that there is no bluetooth mention on any of the official Ford documentation. Anyone have any further info on this?

Thanks

Does it support wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay?
I assume so as it has a wireless charger.

no wireless AA/CarPlay on Sync 3

I'm guessing they designed it to have Sync 4 and then chip shortages forced them to use Sync 3 for now

So it will be able to answer/make calls wirelessly, but to play music it will need to be wired?

Is this the same with the Lariat trim?

Wish they had a clear cut answer, seems ambiguous.
You'll have all the same functionality in the three trims. If you connect it by USB, calls and music are handled through CarPlay or Android Auto. If not, you connect to the Bluetooth in the headunit and it's handled by the system.

To use Android Auto it requires a wires connection then, correct? Sorry. It's early, coffee isn't kicking in, and I'm not that bright.

Thanks for the reply.

Android Auto uses an Ethernet Over USB system to run the external touchscreen. That's a TCP interface and there is latency as you may notice with the touchscreen and with voice prompts. That's why voice prompts sometimes suck if your head unit is underpowered. They use Bluetooth to stream audio to get over the latency issue.
