Does the auto start/stop eliminator affect your warranty at all?
I doubt that it does, after all the manual on pages 168 - 170 describes this function; it also provides advice and exemption as to when it will not auto start/stop.

How's your new ride, did you take to it to the Oilers game last night?

Do that, or just disable it at start up time. It's a question routine, like seat belt, selecting the drive mode, releasing the brake, etc. It's certainly not the hundred bucks and the additional work, but I don't see spending money on something that's at my fingertip...

My Mav will auto release the E brake with a bump of the throttle. Don't they all do this?

After only a couple days with this, I totally agree that it will be some of the best money I’ll ever spend!

I probably should call the Ford dealership on this one. Does the Mav have the idle shutdown, and if so can I switch it off? Seems like a lot of vehicles today have auto shut down at red lights and drive thru burger joints..lol
If you get the hybrid as i did, then NO. There is a seamless interchange between the gas and electric engine that you never notice. There is now stop start at stoplights. That was a real pleasant surprise. I am only speaking for the hybrid. I don't know about the eco boost. I have the 2022 lariat hybrid. love it.

I'm not sure what you mean. My hybrid definitely turns off the engine when stopped at lights or in the drive thru. And you can definitely hear when the gas engine kicks back in. But ... the electric motor does start moving the vehicle forward before the gas engine starts back up so that's a plus.

After researching this this subject, it seems that auto start/stop behavior is by design and dependent on the weather, the temperature and other variables.

I've tested both the battery and the charger and both of them are just fine. My EB 2.0 has this battery, couldn't find the date code:

Ford Maverick Does Maverick have auto start stop? Disable possible? eb2.0 battery

Battery test results:
  • Health: 100%, 910CCA
  • Charge: 75%, 12.45V
  • Internal resistance: 3.3 mΩ
  • Rated: 760 CCA
The cranking test was not done, I didn't think it is necessary after the initial test.

This is the installed alternator and the test results:

Ford Maverick Does Maverick have auto start stop? Disable possible? Mav_alternator

The alternator is rated as 175A output, at least that what the parts websites list for the Lariat with AC power outlet.

Charging Test:
  • Charging: Normal
  • Loaded: 14.10V
  • Unloaded: 14.11V
  • Ripple: 13mV
At the time, when the this issue persisted, it's been raining for couple of days and the temperature had been around 60°F. The defogger, heated front seat and steering wheel was on, in addition to the radio and other things. Allowing the auto start/stop to work may increase the the chance of increased ripple voltage, with other existing loads, that could impact the digital communication network between the modules and computers. Just like any other computer network, the CAN-BUS is sensitive to voltage fluctuation.

Today is sunny 78°F, windows down, an all around great day, where the auto start/stop works as it should.

So, most of you had been correct, this is how this feature works. I just needed to know why...

I've been paying attention to how the auto start/stop works. Here's my subjective results:
  • Disabled by the system until the engine warms up around 75%
  • Disabled by the system when the battery charge is at 60 - 75%, depending on the outdoor temperature
I have this Maverick for nine month now, the age of the battery is not unknown, at least to me. This is the current battery test results:

Ford Maverick Does Maverick have auto start stop? Disable possible? 1698852322719

That's not an optimal battery condition, to say the least, with winter around the corner. Especially the charge level of 60%:

Ford Maverick Does Maverick have auto start stop? Disable possible? AGM battery

Yes, I can recharge the battery and already done it once, but how many times will I need to recharge it, especially in the winter? On the plus side, I don't need to worry about disabling auto start/stop, the system does it for me.

In the winter, when the truck isn't used that much, this will be even worse. My Toyota Avalon, that's driven even less, with its flooded battery and 100A alternator does not have this issue. Every 4-5 year I get a new battery and there's no issues.

Something doesn't add up here, maybe it's the battery or the alternator that having issues, The OCV check is a pretty good indication of the battery state, but it cannot pinpoint the source of the issue. I understand that driving for short distances most of the times may contribute to this. (Grudgingly recall my F150 under the same circumstances/driving distances, it never had issues with the battery.)

Anyone has a suggestion for addressing this?

Thx...

I'm not sure I even like the feature but it should work. I waited a month for "the guy" at my dealer to look at it and he says it doesn't work because my battery was low. I don't put on a ton of miles because I am retired and most of the stuff I do is close to my house but I drive the truck 3-5 times per week. Service advisor says I need to put a battery tender on the truck- that I drive 3-5 times per week. I suspect I got a crappy battery or have a charging system or BMS problem. It starts fine and all other features work.

They "charged" the battery Monday to 87% and it worked Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday and today not working. If my battery discharges that much in one or two days it will probably fail to start this winter.

Waiting for the dealer to call me back. So far I am not at all impressed with Ford service and I plan to make a stink about it because that is just not right.

I have been noticing lately that my 23 Lariat Lux has not always been auto stop/start when I come to red lights, etc.... and that was starting to worry me. I have not turned off the button or bought one of those eliminators that most are talking about. I actually dont mind the feature. But after reading this post, I did some searching. I cant find more detailed information but this is from/on the website version of the owners manual that I found under the "auto stop/start - troubleshooting - FAQ's "...

AUTO-START-STOP – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why does the engine not always stop when I expect it to?
The system is designed to work in a way that complements other vehicle systems, allowing them to operate at optimum performance.
The system does not stop the engine if:
  • The driver door is open.
  • Your vehicle is at high altitude.
  • The heated windshield is on.
  • The engine is warming up.
  • The outside temperature is too low or too high.
  • The battery charge is low.
  • The battery temperature is outside the optimal operating range.
  • The engine is required to run to maintain interior climate and reduce fogging.
Why does the engine sometimes restart when I do not expect it to?
The system is designed to work in a way that complements other vehicle systems, allowing them to operate at optimum performance.
The system restarts the engine if:
  • You switch the heated windshield on.
  • You switch maximum defrost on.
  • Your vehicle starts to roll downhill in neutral.
  • The engine is required to run to maintain adequate brake system assistance.
  • The engine is required to run to maintain interior climate and reduce fogging.
Can I permanently switch the system off?
No.The system plays an important role in reducing the fuel consumption and the CO2 emissions.
Will the frequent engine starts cause parts to wear out?
Your vehicle has an enhanced battery and starter motor that are designed for the increased number of engine starts.

So seeing I live in the midwest and it has been chilly out lately and I have some heated features on in the morning, it appears that the truck has parameters it needs to have before it will allow the stop/start to work. Hope this may help
