So I just read another topic by an individual concerned about not being able to downshift on a downhill road and it got me wondering, does the Maverick cruise control try to keep you from going faster than your set speed?
My wife's minivan has no way to downshift, but if you set cruise it will use the transmission to try and maintain the set speed.
Specific example is right by our house. There is a state route that is 50 mph and has a very steep down hill portion. If cruise is set and you go down that hill the van will actually down shift. Jumps from the cruising RPMs of 1500ish to almost 5000. In fact I've had times where it caused me to slow to under 50.
And that's without any kind of tow/haul mode or any other input from myself.
Hybrid or Ecoboost, regular cruise or adaptive. I'm just curious if the Maverick does the same.
