What setting do you folks use to restrict downhill speed to not use brakes so much I’m driving base model 2024 for work in the mountains of AZ

What setting do you folks use to restrict downhill speed to not use brakes so much I’m driving base model 2024 for work in the mountains of AZ

I have made many trips to Heber/Overgaard in my prior hybrid and in my new Ecoboost; has not been an issue when using cruse w/Eco mode

My Mav will keep gaining speed, freewheeling going downgrade using cruise control in every mode, 2.0 eco

2025 manual matches the above.

So even if they changed the freewheeling or cruise control method - still recommended.

LOW (L)

In low (L) your vehicle holds low gears.

My Mav will keep gaining speed, freewheeling going downgrade using cruise control in every mode, 2.0 eco

My 2024 Eco Lariat holds down hill speeds with its cruise control.
When going g down a long grade I can use the cruise control to bleed speed, all I want.
Lower cc speed 5 mph and I slow up 5 mph

But it uses the brakes no differently than if you use your right foot, it’s just ultimately smoother than most drivers these days.

I guess my real truck has spoiled me with things like engine brake and hill descent assist. My 350 uses the transmission to slow it down on a grade.

Sorry but that has not been my experience. Both Mavs were Lariats; and there are several steep down grades between Mesa AZ and Payson az well as between Payson and Heber.
